| About The Tiny Tin Hearts |
Seth Osborn grew up in New Jersey listening to folk and acoustic music mostly in the tradition of American Roots while training as a classical piano player since the first grade. He has been influenced by Paul Simon, the Beatles, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Arcade Fire and Sufjan Stevens. His main interest in music has always been songwriting. When he moved to Austin, he started The Tiny Tin Hearts as a way to blend classical and folk music in a pop songwriting format.
Jenni Wieland has been playing the French horn since the 6th grade and, from the very beginning, absolutely hated it. Jenni has recorded solo parts for two Indie film soundtracks, played on stage with several pop bands and has added tracks to a handful of recordings, including "High Hopes" for a Pink Floyd tribute CD and the Accidental Arts Ensemble's version of The Who's "Tommy." Jenni hopes that through the Hearts and other projects, people will start to recognize the diverse potential for French horn in rock and roll and other non-classical genres – and that she will become its greatest ambassador!
Trombonist Donald McDaniel, a Senior Financial Consultant and CPA for Dell, has been playing brass instruments since age 11. A classically trained musician with undergraduate and graduate degrees in music education, he taught band in the Duncanville I.S.D. for nine years. In addition to The Tiny Tin Hearts, he plays in the Austin Symphonic Band, The Austin Chamber Music Center and does free-lance recording in the Austin area.
Born in Austin, Texas, but conceived in Corona, California (home of Fender Bass), Melanie Martinez was destined to play a Precision, despite waiting until she was 35 to start. Tragic crossroads led her to music in the first place, which catapulted Melanie quickly to the day when someone said, "There's this band I think you'd be into...” And there she is.
At age 11, Sean Ziegler bought his first guitar by working the fields in his rural Wisconsin hometown. His working man's attitude has led him down the path of American music, with a big open ear for new directions. Now residing in Austin, Texas, Sean's membership with The Tiny Tin Hearts has given him a home with an unforeseen dynamic force of talent to create, interpret the sounds of America and beyond.
Jim Korioth began playing the cello in the sixth-grade public school string orchestra in Sherman, Texas. In high school he studied privately at Austin College and later at University of North Texas. Jim played for two years in the Sherman Symphony and studied classical music at Trinity University on full music and academic scholarships before taking a lengthy break from music. He auditioned for The Tiny Tin Hearts hoping to find his way back to music, “I love playing with The Tiny Tin Hearts, not only because my band mates are all awesome players, but also because the band’s creative process draws from everyone’s ideas.”
Jessie Poole, born just north of Dallas, has been drumming since he was 11, with the help of his drum teacher and supportive parents who let him practice year-after-year with few complaints. It took him until roughly a year-and-a-half ago to realize playing music is what he ultimately wants to do with his life. “Nothing else I do is as much fun as rocking out with The Tiny Tins. Our music is unlike anything I've ever heard before in my life, and we collaborate so well, although we come from such diverse backgrounds.”
Dan Eversole plays violin by night and destroys cancer with lasers by day.
