    My musical taste varies extremely. Today it might be minimalist classical (no Phillip Glass, though...sorry), tomorrow it could be late-70's power pop (think Cheap Trick...my first concert back in the late 70s, on a double-bill with AC/DC...damn fine show). The next day? Maybe some be-bop jazz, or Americana, or new age, or folk, or late 60's to mid-70's soul and R&B (and a great good friend reminded me that I left out Punk...big omission, and I stand corrected). Great songs and great songwriters always have a place in my listening space.

My story (the Cliff Notes version): I'm a former journalist who still gets dragged into that filthy trade once in a while, now working as a writer in Dallas, TX and looking for opportunities back in the KY/OH/WV tri-state area. I moved to Texas in 2000 from Missouri, where I worked with a not-for-profit journalism think-tank. Before that was Northern Virginia, and before that...Ohio, Connecticut, West Virginia and Kentucky (my home state). Before all that I was a tobacco farmer, an electrician, a hardware salesman, a karate instructor and a guitarist/singer/songwriter in a really bad band. A musician and songwriter for more than 35 years, I share my house with hundreds of books, magazines and movies in various formats, a small home recording setup (48-track digital, 16-track DAW and an ancient four-track cassette deck), 12 guitars, three synthesizers, a drum kit, a banjo, an electric mandolin and other sundry noisemakers.
