Kim's Interests
|
| General | Techie stuff, comic books, net.art, travel, gardening...lots of things though I have little time to pursue them all. | | Music | From Dead Can Dance to Einsturstende Neubauten, to Khaled, to Hedningarna, to Cordelia's Dad to...well the list goes on and on. | | Movies | Hmmn. Anything by Hayao Miyazaki, Kung Fu Hustle, Fulltime Killer, Dream Lovers, After The Wedding, The Yes Men, Casino Royale... | | Television | Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, Doctor Who (only the original series and 2005) Stargate SG1... not much, I guess | | Books | Anything by Neil Gaiman or John Crowley. Or Samuel Delany Or Patricia McKillip, Robin McKinley, or Ursula Le Guin, or Dorothy Sayers. I read a lot of non-fiction, mostly rhetoric, philosophy, art criticism and other theory. Right now I'm reading Manuel Castells, Alphonso Lingis, Lev Manovich, Geert Lovink, Katherine Hayles-- all pretty established. But I'm also reading some I think are going to be very important; Trebor Scholz, Nick Montfort, Florian Cramer. |

About me:
Somewhere I'm a professor in the English Department and I'm launching a cool new program that you should check out, especially if you are a CSU Stan. student, or might be one in the future: The Center for Technologies of Culture, Communication, and Design. There will be a number of courses available next year, and certificate and Masters programs should be available by 2008-09.
I also write for Sequential Tart, an online 'zine on pop culture and comics. Look in my Friends section.
And, visit my blog, Else-If-Then.
