I got into music at 8 years old,firstly Metal,Rock,then Hip Hop and some Dub Reggae,also tripped out festival stuff!!Played the guitar for a while then got into the Rave scene in 1990, loved that especially the Hardcore Jungle Techno- aspects of it.
First mixed on a mates Technics in late 1992, instantly felt a buzz from it, started collecting records in 1994 mostly Jungle Drum and Bass,then started playing at illegal free parties all over Wales, was part of a soundsystem that did them from 95/6 thru till 98/9, as well as bookings for club nights all over South Wales.
During the 90s I was playing Jungle out mainly, then around millenium started exploring and playing out other genres, (mostly thru collectin vinyl) got more into Dub and Funk, while still collecting a lot of Oldskool stuff I'd missed back in the day.
I started making tunes around this time to mainly trying jungle drum n bass, did this on an Akai MPC 2000xl for a few years then swapped to computer based production.
In early 03 worked in London and heard some Grime beats on Rinse fm, loved this and wanted to get hold of the vinyls but couldnt get hold of them at the time, so I started making slower grimey beats and progressed into the Dubstep genre of today.
So mainly makin that for the last few years whilst still buying all sorts of vinyl and doing lots of gigs having supported names like, Zion Train, Skream, Loxy, Digital Mystiks, Lomas, Pinch, DJ Juice (GSI) Powersteppers, DJ-Jez, Caspa, Toob, Cally, Sicknote, Richard Thair, Easygroove, The Bug, Logan D, Vinylgroover, Warrior Queen, Ben Pest & Fedka the Irritant (Pest).
Doing regular gigs in South West Wales and some gigs in Bristol, Cardiff and Swansea.
During 08 BBC Introducing contacted me through Myspace and hooked it up to play tracks of mine for 3 weeks running on the Radio 1 show, I was pretty stoked with that!!!
Dj Crises from Londons long running Rinse FM playing a number of my tracks regularly on his late night weekend show.
I was close to a 12" release on Studio Rockers, Tony Thorpes Dubstep label, but unfortunately it didnt materialize, was cool to chat to him a few times (long calls!) tho, he knows the score!
09 has been good for my DJ profile having been given a weekly show on www.nu-perceptionradio.com Sundays 6 till 8 PM GMT. Playing Oldskool Jungle Hardcore and D&B.
I was contacted by SlackHippy resulting in a mix of mine getting aired on Austrian radio station ORF/FM4 based in Vienna, I was augusts international guest mix showcase on The Dogs Bollocks show hosted by SlackHippy and D.Kay.
Also NoClone radio L.A./ Hawai are currently promoting my Oldskool Jungle Hardcore mixes on there playlists which is cool!
