.... ..Mind Vs. Target! formed in Spring 2006 as a free improvisation duet featuring Shane Perlowin on guitar and Joseph Burkett on upright bass. In short order they began introducing composed material into the mix, and in summer of 2007 Michael Libramento joined the project on drums. As a trio, they have composed numerous original pieces and have developed a deep intuitive rapport with one another as improvisers, performing regionally and at the 2007 Ears and Eyes Festival in Chicago, Illinois... ..The music of Mind Vs Target ranges from rich harmonic textures to quick angular twists and turns, from delicate lyricism to cacophonous walls of sound… Though improvisation is prominent, with each member bringing his unique expression to a performance, much of the music is tightly composed and executed.
