The first annual “Bring It Downtown” runway fashion show will be a first for the Sun City. The fashion show will be on Sunday, June 22nd at 7:30pm at “The Place” at the Union Plaza. Fashion will feature designs by Silvestre Rodriguez (Estylow Junktion), Jayem Bang, and Ampy’s boutique. This year’s fashion brings a full scale production that will involve lighting, 20 models, and an urban setting that focuses on bringing events like this to downtown El Paso. It has been a roller coaster of events, where we hear of downtown revitalization and how we are going to get this and that. With the empty promises of the past, a collective of owners, fashion designers, and models decided that there would be an event that would trigger a fire that would bring more of these of events to downtown. Couture attendees will delight in live entertainment by The Royalty, soul singer Solre and the lounge beats of DJ Esteban Carrasco. The fashion-focused evening is perfect for men and women alike, beginning with an elegant wine and tapas reception, followed by the show itself, which features scores of summer influenced designs for men and women.Designer Silvestre Rodriguez, whose urban wear is becoming an El Paso favorite, will be featured in the show, presenting his new summer collection.Part of the proceeds of this event will go to the nonprofit Latch Key Centers Unlimited who works in conjunction with Americorps providing an after school curriculum to inner city kids.Tickets Will be $15 dollars.
