Mark.....You might find it interesting that my daughter is currently taking a High School Photography Class, and she was undertaking a report to examine 3 different photographers. She chose Ansel Adams, Steve McCurry and asked me who I'd recommend for the third. Can you guess who I recommended? Yep... that artist I know named Mark Sean Orr!!! Keep up the coolness Daddio! Mark..your composition skills amaze me. I wish I knew how to teach this sort of thing. I was thinking how I could show Rembrandt's "Girl in a Half Door" painting, and a lot of people wouldn't see much, if anything, but there's so much going on in that painting. That's sort of how I see your photos. There's energy, motion and action even in the most seemimgly mundane subject. Look at Van Gogh's "Bedroom at Arles". It's just some furniture in a bedroom, and yet inanimate objects seem to be alive somehow. I'm not sure how you do it, but please keep doing it.

Mark...my siblings and I represent the Estate of Ross Lockridge Jr. and hope to encourage projects that might help perpetuate the novel "Raintree County", now back in print at Chicago Review Press, as you probably know. About me:
I have lived in Indiana all my life ....love the people,the history and the land...hate the weather. I love music and finding new artists to lsten to. I also enjoy photography and Genealogy.You can see my photography at the website below, which also gives a history of my family dating back as far as the 1500's. The website won the HERITAGE AWARD FOR GENEALOGICAL WEBSITES in June of 2007. I started out taking landscape photos of local scenery and soon found that I love to photograph people. Not the posed stuff though..I love taking candid shots when people are unaware of the camera and just being themselves.
I have published two books of photography titled "A Midwest Pictorial" and "21st Century Photography", my work has been published in newspaper and magazines throughout Indiana and one of my photos was used as the album cover for the amazing musician Achim Wiershem (Mindmovie).
My favorite photographer is Robert Frank who published the awesome book "The Americans" ...a look at America in the mid 20th century. I also admire the photography of Shelby Lee Adams and Mary Ellen Mark.
My favorite authors are James Thurber, Ray Bradbury, Jack London and Stephen King.
My favorite musicians are John Mellencamp, James Taylor, Van Halen and many more. I played in the band "Night Shift" for several years (drummer) and like all types of music. Favorite movies include: Indiana Jones, Star Wars, A Christmas Story, old "B" horror films, Dark Shadows, Star Trek ....amd most recently "Slumdog Millionaire".
