The Spitzer Study of Ex-Gay Therapy: Methodological Flaws and Political Abuse

Daniel Gonzales over at Ex-Gay Watch has created a very well done video that loks at the Spitzer study, a study that has been used repeatedly by anti-gay church leaders and ex-gay proponents as proof that "change is possible". Daniel blows the lid on this one as he carefully examines the studies and why it could never be used as it has been used. Watch it through to get a nice quick summary of the info covered (oh and there is a fun bit about 2/3 of the way through) "A study of gay conversion therapy released by Dr. Robert Spitzer in 2001 sent shockwaves through the American media despite serious methodological concerns. This video examines those concerns and goes on to examine how the study has been abused by anti-gay political organizations such as James Dobson’s Focus on the Family to promote anti-gay public policy."
