The 194 Recordings label was founded in 2007 as part of the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at NYU. Specializing in locally produced and created content, the label is now capitalizing on the evolving music industry by focusing on digital marketing and distribution of it's audio-visual content. 194 seeks to define the characteristically fluid NYU music scene by creating a community for musicians and music fanatics alike.
A few months ago NYLE, a tremendously talented rapper approached us about producing a music video with him. The concept was simple at first: cover Lil Wayne's "Let the Beat Build." Okay sounds cool....And let's do it all in one take. We brought in Last Pictures to produce the film while we took care of recording the audio at the same time.
