Interests
General
Writing (poetry and otherwise), reading about current events, looking up random stuff on the internet, weaving, kicking back with my dog, going out dancing in Wilmington, Philadelphia or Baltimore, telling and listening to stories, going places where sun and water meet, having good conversations with good people over good food. Bumping loud music whenever I get a chance. Eating and cooking healthy. Grilling with good company. Splurging at nice restaurants. Working out. Making rounds at the bars till I lose count but it is usually between Smithers and Irish Mike's in Dover. Pouring strong drinks for people till they think I'm the best bartender ever. People watching is always fun. Traveling as much as possible. Gambling! Atlantic City is my home away from home. Love to play in the sun. Dewey Beach is always in the plans. If not, frisbee, sand volleyball, golf or a T-bird ride can take its place. Shopping. Going to cool concerts. Hanging with people who have a positive attitude, good sense of humor and that are nonjudgemental. Spending time with the coolest parents ever. Other things I like include: 1955 - 1957 Ford Thunderbirds, classic cars, convertibles, lhasa-apso's, Rehobeth, toasted almond coffee from dunkin' donuts, knee-high socks, 4 inch high heels, street vendors, Vanity Fair magazine, stella and lovely perfumes, apple martinis, getting under the covers, sex and the city reruns, my belt buckle collection.Music
George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers, all the rest are second tier. The Delaware music scene was really set back with the closing of the Stone Balloon. Things have not been the same since. I had a fake ID when I was 15 years old and I was able to sneak in to see the Destroyers. I will never forget it. There is now the Riverfront Music Center in Wilmington, but I think it is a real disappointment. I am glad there is a place for young talent, but I really don't have an interest in returning to the Riverfront. I hope the management improves. Other artists and groups I like would include: kanye west, native tounges: tribe, de la, brand nubian, wutang, ghostface, mark ronson, dj chicken george, billie holiday, nas, talib kweli, B.I.G., BJORK, mos def, JayZ, the roots, nina simone, dj drez, haiku d'etat, the foriegn exchange, dwele, goapele, maimou, grupo fantasma, murs, jill scott, louie armstrong, bavu blakes, common, zap mama, madlib, mf doom, stevie wonder, pharcyde, camp lo, procussions, asheru, dj mel, coltrane, masta ace, los trio, led zepplin, alicia keys, dizzee rascal, pink flyod, jaguar wright, sade, b.b.king, bob marley, dandy warhols, mark farina, bahamadia, nicknack, soulive, slick rick, kid koala, phantom planet, tony bennett, pete rock, rakim, immortal technique, lauryn hill, chaka kahn, rage against the machine, 9th wundra, esthero, ladybug mecca, outkast, snoop, neptunes, alchemist, cee-lo, dangermouse, al green, ozomatli, hi-tek, gangstarr, miles davis, jeru the damaja, OH NO, buju banton, little brother, WORD ASSOCIATION, amigos invisibles, ELEMENT 7D, fortknox5, plat. pied pipers, zuco 103! About me:
I WANT TO THANK ALL OF MY FRIENDS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE RED CROSS FUNDRAISER IN WILMINGTON. IT WAS CALLED BLACK TIE MONOPOLY NIGHT. IT WAS A BIG SUCCESS AND IT WAS A LOT OF FUN. I WILL DEFINITELY BE DOING IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR. I ALSO HOPE TO ADD NEW PEOPLE TO OUR HAPPY HOUR GROUP, "COCKTAILS FOR A CAUSE". THERE IS NO CHARGE TO ATTEND. I am a successful executive but I have been devoting too much time to my career. I really need balance and I have promised myself to stay out of the office on weekends. I was married at 20 while I was still an undergraduate at Wake Forest, and that relationship ended three years ago. I have enjoyed Myspace because I believe you can never have too many friends or acquaintances, and I have been pleased to meet so many new friends through Myspace who then participated in our happy hour group. I am easy going and enjoy people. Once again, I work hard and I enjoy my career because it allows me to be my own boss. I love to travel. I enjoy good food, like to cook, entertain on occasion, gardening and eating out. I hope to eventually find a guy who is family oriented and is able to keep me on my feet, interested and intrigued! Equally as important, someone who is spontaneous, positive, loves to laugh, likes to have fun, enjoy quiet times, is a kid at heart and is totally passionate about love and life! Beauty catches the eye but personality catches the heart. Are you capable of catching both with me?!? Physical attraction obviously is important but then it becomes secondary. Chemistry between two people is something that can not be described or put into words but rather feelings you get when you know that that person is the "one" for you. Butterfly feelings in the deep pit of your stomach when you're about to see that person….. Aches in your heart when you're away from them….. Emptiness when that person is not with you… and missing that person even when they are right next to you! A hopeful romantic is what I am and a hopeless romantic is what lies in my heart! I have been very fortunate and blessed with an amazing family and we are all extremely close. My parents have been married for over 45 years and they are still madly in love with each other. I am searching for the same and will not settle for anything less! I believe that eye contact is the best way to feel that attraction that everyone so desires. If you think we would make a good match or would just like to hang out as friends I am open to both.Who I'd like to meet:
George Thorogood and owners of 1955 to 1957 Thunderbirds. I also enjoy talking to fellow owners of Lhasa Apso's (see photos). I received an e-mail from a guy asking me if a Lhasa Apso was an Italian sports car. I think he was serious, and I guess he meant Alfa Romeo! I do not consider myself overly picky when it comes to guys. There are some potential problem areas. I am not going to get rid of my dog so you have to accept him. I will be nice and let you drive the T-Bird during the Summer, but don't get use to it. I love to drive between Rehoboth and Atlantic City and you can be the passenger. Because of my work I receive many tickets to Atlantic City shows, as well as social events in Wilmington and Philadelphia. If you refuse to wear a suit and tie you will not fit in. My friend Julia Becker organized the Philadelphia 30+ Happy Hour Group and I am working with others to do the same thing in Wilmington at the Hotel DuPont as well as in Dover. We are as organized yet as the Philadelphia Group. I have also enjoyed Myspace for networking. Last year I was asked to participate in an album release party for Madonna in Philadelphia and my contacts in the 18 to 25 year old range were definitely lacking. I want to change that and I want to organize some fun free events in Wilmington during the winter and on the shore during the summer. I was born at the same time George Thorogood organized the Delaware Destroyers. I know they dropped the Delaware name years ago but I still like it. Too bad they made the wrong decision! I have a wide range of musical tastes, but the Destroyers "Live in Europe" CD is always on in my car. If you are not into George, try and fake it! I would like to meet a guy who is honest, laid back, comfortable with himself and his life. He should be able to enjoy the good things life has to offer and not get too stressed with work and life in general.Details
