Formed in early 2007 in Canberra, Australia, Templestowe infuses death metal, thrash, progressive, and melodic elements to form its own brand of riff-driven metal..... In mid-2007 Templestowe released their Self-Titled EP on an unsuspecting Australian metal scene. The EP demonstrated a mature sound, comprised of well-rounded compositions and a dynamic sensitivity far beyond the band’s years. The band’s raw, ethereal sound quickly caught the attention of the metal community. ..Masterful Magazine.. described the band as ‘one of the most promising melodic death metal units to surface of late’ . The EP received rotation on several Australian radio stations including Australia’s biggest independent station, Triple J... .. Templestowe played extensively on the back on the EP supporting a wide range of acts both in their hometown and interstate. This included support for ..White Chapel (USA), Psycroptic (Aus), The Berzerker (Aus), The Amenta (Aus) and Aeon of Horus (Aus)... Renowned for their exciting and often spontaneous live performances, Templestowe have developed a substantial fan base..... In late 2008 Templestowe recruited mixer/engineer Scott Carter ....(Aeon of Horus).... to record their debut album ....Cimmerian..... Despite being a self-financed independent release, Templestowe’s attention to detail and vision has led to a package on par with any major release. Testament to this fact, Templestowe teamed up with several prominent names in the recording industry. This included additional engineering by Mark Lewis ....(The Black Dahlia Murder, All That Remains, Deicide).... of AudioHammer Studios in Florida, USA and mastering by the legendary Goran Finnberg.... (Opeth, In Flames, Soilwork).... of The Mastering Room AB in Goteborg, Sweden. The artwork was crafted by the band’s own Jon Hocking. The CD package is laid out in a striking six-panel digi-pack with artwork that reflects the Nietzschean themes underpinning ....Cimmerian’s ....sound and conceptual basis. .... ....Cimmerian.... is a ten track, riff-laden odyssey. Its fast paced and thrashy compositions are tempered by a progressive, and often dark, character. The band focused particular attention on crafting a theme throughout the album. As a result ....Cimmerian.... is not simply a collection of songs, but an experience; taking the listener to the darker aspects of existence and exploring the illusory nature of truth and morality in 21st century society. .... ....Cimmerian.... highlights Templestowe’s commitment to success in not only the Australian metal scene, but on the world stage as well. Throughout 2009 and 2010 the band will focus on distributing the album both digitally and in CD format and by touring extensively to personally deliver the ....Cimmerian.... experience to the masses. ...... ...... ..REVIEWS OF "CIMMERIAN".. Great thrashy melodic death! Glad to hear more bands keeping this style alive! Let's do something in the future if you ever decide to come to SE Asia or we decide to go to Australia. Keep in touch!
