CHECK OUT MY NEW WEBSITE AT:www. gccameron.net G. C. Cameron is no longer the lead singer of the legendary group, The Temptations, and was frequently working at Hitsville Studios now known as Motown. He served in Vietnam with the United States Marines. Soon after his tour in Vietnam, he was contracted with Motown as the lead singer of the Spinners in 1967. Imagine the joy. In 1970 G. C. Cameron of the Spinners had his first Motown hit, “It’s a Shame.” G. C. strikes a startling piercing wail--perfect synchronization of gospel and blues – the roots of R&B. “ It’s a Shame”, co-written and produce with Stevie Wonder, ranks among the greatest Pop music tunes ever recorded. G. C. was best known for the hit, “It’s so hard to say Goodbye to Yesterday”, on the sound track for the 1975 movie, “Cooley High.” The song has endured with music fans for generations. Boyz II Men remade it into a new hit in the 1980’s. Before joining the Temptations in 2003, G. C. and Ben Obi produced and arranged all the songs on Cameron’s album, “Shadows”. G. C. performed all vocals on “Shadows” which displays his amazing talent and five octave range. During his stay in Jackson, Mississippi—his native home—he produced and sang on a gospel music album. He also hosted a Sunday morning TV gospel show, Truth and Reality, on station WLBT (channel 3) out of Jackson Mississippi. In 2004 G. C’s first project with the Temptations was the album “Legacy”. It ranked number 18 on Billboard’s Top R&B album chart. In January, 2006, the Temptations released their latest album, “Reflections” which climbed to number 14 on the R&B charts within the first ten days. It was also on the top 100. In February 2007 “Reflections” was nominated for a Grammy at the 49th annual Grammy Award for “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You”. G. C. was touring with the Temptations in venues throughout Europe and North America touching the hearts and souls of fans of all ages. He enjoys bringing people together and giving them with a sense of love at a concert’s close. When G. C. is not on tour he visits elementary and junior high schools to talk with children about the importance of education. G.C. Cameron is a man of soul and he gives not only in his music. His music label, Daga-Jacc, donates part of the funds gained through the sale of “Shadows” to improve the quality of education. G. C. now resides in St. Louis, MO. When he is not in the recording studio, G.C. is on tour with Sony promoting the P.B.S. special Love Train a tribute to Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff the Sound of Philadelphia, featuring G.C. Cameron, The O Jays, Jerry Butler, Bunny Sigler and many more. The crossover from Motown to Philly sound was a spiritual journey for G.C. due to him being an original Spinner and a original Motown act. He has just returned from Japan on a two week tour with Dennis Edwards Temptations Review on New Year Day. G.C. is working on his new album, “Enticed Ecstasy”, to be released along with a re-released copy of “Shadows”. They will be his last R&B recordings sold as collectables for his friends and fans all over the world. G.C. is going in a different direction musically with the release of yet another album entitled “Truth & Reality”. In this album he will primarily focus on gospel music so we all may partake on a more spiritual level.
