Bio
............"We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest in the glory that is within us. It is not just in some of us. It is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Nelson Mandela. - ...... Fuck the system. Verið velkomin. Hlustið á tónlistina mína. Slefið yfir myndunum af mér. Slefið yfir þessum plötuumslögum. Slefið yfir vídeóunum. Slefið yfir hárinu á mér. Fall in love with me. Ykkar, PÁLL ÓSKAR) ......ENGLISH: Paul Oscar (born Páll Óskar in 1970) is a self tought singer and has been working as one since childhood. He is a true Icelandic icon if there ever was one. He has been one of Iceland’s most revered singers since releasing his solo début, Stuð, in 1993. Lauded as disco’s Great White Hope for the nineties, Palli has churned out hit albums and singles at a steady pace ever since, reaching his greatest success yet with the release of last year’s full-length Allt fyrir ástina (“All for Love”). A creative epoch as well as listeners’ favourite, the album earned him the Icelandic Music Awards for “Singer of the Year,” “Net Voters’ Favourite” and “Listeners’ favourite”. Paul Oscar is also a well-known and highly outspoken gay activist, and can be regularly found commenting on gay and lesbian issues in the popular media. First and foremost known as a singer, he is also the most popular DJ in Iceland. He has enjoyed a working relationship with the latin group “The Millionaires”, the easy listening group "Casino" and competed in the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 (with the song Minn hinsti dans) and has won awards as best male singer. His solo albums are Stuð (’93) Palli (’95) Seif (’96) Deep Inside ('99) and “If I won’t sleep tonight” (2001) and “The lights at home” (2003) in collaboration with harpist Monika Abendroth. You can watch many of his old videos and live performances, from 1991 to this day, on www.youtube.com. He is currently working on a Greatest Hits album, celebrating his 15th anniversary of his first solo album. The collection is titled "Silfursafnið" or The Silver Collection, to be released in October 2008. (OK, this intro was cheesy, I know. Just check out those songs, those hooks, that voice, those outfits, that hair. Fall in love with me. Yourz, PAUL OSCAR.) ......EFTIRFARANDI PLÖTUR ERU FÁANLEGAR Á www.tonlist.is YOU CAN BUY ALL THESE PAUL OSCAR ALBUMS ON www.tonlist.is ..............................................................................DEUTSCH: PAUL OSCAR (PÁLL ÓSKAR) geboren 1970 brachte sich als Kind das Singen selber bei und arbeitet seitdem als Sänger.
