About me: The 1 DollarClub.org is an international non-profit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The idea for the 1 Dollar Club came about a discussion of our social networks. As people, we have never been more connected than we are today. What if we could leverage the power of those social networks as a force for good?
The 1 Dollar Club identified four international causes to tackle – health, peace, hunger and shelter. These problems are truly international in that they transcend national boundaries, therefore they require an international solution.
Here is how it works:
1. Go to www.1dollarclub.org and donate 1 US dollar.
2. Ask as many of your friends to donate as you feel comfortable doing through your social networks (facebook, myspace, linkedin etc).
3. Select which international cause your donation goes towards tackling - health, hunger, peace or shelter.
4. Track your influence and the influence of your friends by going to the log in page and watching your contribution grow.
