About Knuckle Samich & the Blackeyes
Big Wheel magazine March 6th, 2009:
Punk Rock and beer are two forces that are certainly not farfetched from one another. In fact, when combined, the most beautiful of friendships is formed, and it is probably an inevitable combination anyway. The album art and title for Knuckle Samich & The Black Eyes’ album, "Steel Caps Warm Pabst", includes beer references, primarily Pabst Blue Ribbon beer references, and any band that can embrace and include Pabst in their music has already found a friend indeed. "Steel Caps Warm Pabst" is an album for the working class punk, and even if you don’t have a job but love beer, the album will suit your musical needs. The CD is fun, able to make you nod and shake your head to beat, and perfect for your upcoming Punk Rock times… hey, just like Pabst beer!
The sound of Knuckle Samich & The Black Eyes is a mix between Oi Punk and Rock-N-Roll, which makes their songs sound like Punk you’ve heard before, but a lot more upbeat. The song "Our Turn Now" which is featured on the album, has the most upbeat tempo in the album, and has just the right influence of Rock-N-Roll in it to make you want to get up and dance with your boots on. There are ten songs in the album and they all bring something different to the CD, which is good if you hate repetition in albums. The songs go from upbeat, to fast, to slow, and upbeat and fast again. It’s a ride with different turns, but turns that’ll make the ride worth it, and in the end, it leaves you satisfied.
"Steel Caps Warm Pabst" is out now on B.C.M. Records, available for you to get your hard working blue collar hands on. It’ll make your long hard day spent at work feel not so bad, and the music will either ease you up, or get you ready to go out and stir some good ol’ chaos. -Stephanie M.-

Knuckle Samich & the Blackeyes is a Blue Collar, Beer fueled punch in the teeth of Punk, Folk, Country, Classic/Hard Rock and Rock and Roll. Having evolved since the initial idea of finding a group of guys that are friends and family as well as band mates. As the first add that was posted said “looking for people who are cool, love to drink, party and oh yeah, play an instrument”. Knuckle Samich hit hard and fast playing our first four song set about a month later on St. Patty’s Day 2007. It was Rough! It was drunken, and it was well received. The following year saw us playing as many shows as our lives allowed. It also saw us rapidly gaining a reputation with the people who came to see us and the bands we played with to not just get on stage and play our songs, but to bring a drunken R&R filled throw down of a party wherever we go. We went into the studio and spent 2 ½ days recording our first album “ Steel Caps & Warm Pabst." Bringing in more musical elements from folk, country, Celtic, classic and hard rock as well as reggae we began playing acoustic shows as well playing as much as possible. Taking from more influences than there is time to name we continue to write new songs. We are in the midst of album 2 “ The Forgotten, The Forsaken and the Damned” to be released summer or fall of 09 so be prepared hear more and more from Knuckle Samich & the Blackeyes and if ya see us in the bar, tip a hat or raise a glass. Cheers K.S.B.E.
