**REVIEW** Wow, we have a lot of contact with a few guys’ in the states that help us out with promotion, advertising, reviews, bookings etc, we do the same for them over here. They know who they are, saves us having to say thanks!
Well anyway, they have been punting the CD around some magazines, fanzines, and Press in America and Canada for us and well we got this review sent to us. Went to press last week in a magazine in Washington State (mike get off your arse and send us the paper we want to frame it). We are very proud of it. So have a read.
SOTLAND REALLY DOES HAVE HARD ROCK……ers!
A strange thing happened to me the other day, I was sitting in the office, staring out the window, bored, so I decided to do the Music reviews. Now, as you may be aware the feature editor is off on vacation, I picked the short straw!
There was a surprise in the intray, a package from Scotland. So needless to say, I wondered why it was here, I read the press pack and I thought, nothing unusual apart from different spellings, (when will the Brits realize it’s color!), but still wondered why it was here.
The Cd then kicked in, how glad was I they sent it. Well that was Thursday, today is Tuesday, and I have not stopped playing that damn CD. They blew me away, more than the wife ever did..i mean does.i mean...sorry dear!
So now I better do my job and tell you what they sound like I suppose. Imagine you walk into a Bar and Metallica have just finished playing, AC/DC are the headlining act but you need to wait for Johnny Cash (RIP) to go on, Well FNL are the band that you would expect to see on a bill like that.
The guys really are the last thing you would expect from the U.K. The vocals have a deep southern feel that is very reminiscent of early ZZ Top. The guitar however is defiantly from the Angus Young School of rock with a bit of Clapton for good measure. Mix all this together and strangely enough you have a very original sound. The song ‘Tell me’ was a rip roaring tune that had me waving a devil sign in the air, and at times I had to check this was not Iron Maiden.
Whereas ‘Time’ and ‘I’ll just wait’ had me wanting to drive down the freeway with the hood down, if only I had a hood, in fact if only I had a car. Although I must admit that ‘I know your name’ and ‘My religion’ had a definite heavier rocker side which made me go for the repeat button. Now personally I don’t think they will take the Charts by storm but if like me you get the chance to check them out, it would defiantly be worth it. The only negative from the experience was that I only got a 7 track sampler of the album 'DEAD IN VEGAS' . So needless to say will need to spend my hard earned (yeh right - ED) $$$ and get the album.
Nb. I am back on current affairs next week. (Too right you are. ED)
We did have A Hitlist of places pleasured by FNL but we have taken this off due to the fact we missed half of them out!!!!

Welcome to the profile of the FNL. They may not be the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, but what they are bringing to the Worldwide internet, myspace, ITunes, MTV, radio driven media is a new slant on what a rock, punk, grunge, thrashy monster sounds like when mixed with copious amounts of Rum, Whisky, Lager, Marlboros and any other vice the guys can get their hands on.
From the early nineties they have been hitting the road on what some would call there road to oblivion...or taking a ride till the devil smiles, others would say its their meaning of being......They would say its ROCK N ROLL and they like it...and its your round so get you hand in your pocket.
From the early days they found a amazing sound and set about playin regularly in the Glasgow area. This saw them getting a crack at America through radio stations all across the states playing there demo to death, who said noone listen to late night readio!. The trip never happend however as the agent involved went bust, this saw the line up split.
Have no fear dear reader as it did not take to long for their love of the music, the drink and of course the other things that happen in the life of rock gods for the guys to get the buzz back. So they went back to the drawing board.
That saw the conception of 'Dead in Vegas', an album of mood swings(available via www.cdbaby.com/fnl). Which saw the band get there first studio album in the can and rave reviews. The album has been received with great favour in America and Australia which has seen the band not just appeal to a European market but a worldwide marketl. New vigour was needed within the band and if Steve and Alan are considered the Gin, Jack and Marlboro, then Bert and Mick are the tonic, coke and spark to light everything up.
With album two in the can and being mixed at the moment with a joint project by the band and a major producer in the states the future looks bright. A strange occurrence however may make you wonder about the band. The guys heard a voice in the midst of the four bottles of whisky.........and behold, a pale horse and dark rider by the name of drink...and FNL followed with him"
