Bio
Jazmin Silvia Lopez~Friedman was born in upstate New York in Geneva on December 13th 1977. Her father was a professional bassist and guitarist. Her mother was a professional dancer. In 1978 Jazmin's parents moved back to San Francisco, CA. Jazmin began performing and singing in perfect key at the age of 4. She began tap dancing and ballet at age 5. Yet, her heart had always been for singing. She began studying blues vocals with her father at age 7. She also continued to study dance off and on until the age of 11. It was at that time that she discovered and began studying the magnificent cello. In 1989 Jazmin began studying at a magnet school in San Francisco that had a strong focus on music and other Performing Arts. It was there that she started her journey into music theory, classical performance, and the study of cello music. In 1992 Jazmin auditioned and was accepted in to the School of the Arts high school orchestra department. In 1993 she also began to perform with the Berkeley Young Peoples Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco State University Orchestra, San Francisco Sinfonietta among several other groups in the surrounding bay area. In June of 1996 Jazmin was blessed to be able to perform at Carnegie Hall with the Berkeley Young Peoples Symphony and became the first student to double major at School of the Arts between Orchestra and Vocal. Through out the many years of practicing and performing the cello and traveling, Jazmin continued to pursue her singing and composition abilities. She also dug her heels deep into Jazz and Blues. These two elements were strongly taught and imposed upon her by her late father..... Some of Jazmin's influences include Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Frank Sinatra, The Shirelles, B.B. King and his "Lucille", Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, Sarah Vaughn, Gertrude "Ma" Rainey,.....Tori Amos, Amy Winehouse The rest is history in the making.... .. ..........PUT AN IMAGE AT THE TOP OF YOUR PAGE...... .. .. .. ............Myspace Layouts.... - ....Flowers Myspace Layouts...... ....Myspace Codes.... - ....Myspace Generators.... - ....Myspace Backgrounds.... .. .... .... -
