.. ...... Mr. Pep began rapping after he recieved a phone call from a childhood friend telling him that his cousin and another friend had been murdered in an incident involving drugs and violence. This caused Mr. Pep to write his first song in remembrance of the two youth who died at such an early age and who had a world of future ahead of them. And he continues to write so that today's youth don't have to go through what his cousin and childhood friend experienced. He has performed across the country with a fire like no other. In places such as Toledo (his hometown), Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Tampa, Orlando, and more. Being able to write songs for himself and others, produce music, and perform on stage makes him a triple threat to be reckoned with. And with his new CD "High Definition" on the way, he is set to shake up the negative perception many people have about rap music. "We've gone from slave chains to platinum slave chains, & nothing has changed," says Mr. Pep. "Progress as a hip-hop culture is more than jewelry and money, we have an obligation to impact our culture. I'm talking about more than giving the kids some food and a place to play basketball. Our music is the biggest gift. It teaches them how to dress, what is cool, options for making money, etc. So what you are rapping about could outweigh any physical contribution you could ever give!" .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
