General Fiasco got themselves together the old-fashioned way, childhood friends with a shared passion for music and put themselves out there the modern way - loud and proud. It’s a theme that infuses their personal style as you can hear the old-school American stadium rock influence running through their fresh, up-to-date rock/pop sound. Although London-based, General Fiasco are no strangers to the world of national and international success as their accomplishments range from a charity tour of Mozambique in 2003, to a full-on nationwide stadium support slot with Bryan Adams in 2005. General Fiasco have also seen there fair share of Lead Singer's come and go in the passed however Josh. Josh Also from Chart Success with triple 8 and his electric performances have been likened to a young Mick Jagger, a comment any performer could be proud of. Has stuck with us for now anyways haha. General Fiasco are hotly tipped to be this coming year’s Next Big Thing. Witness them very soon clogging up the airwaves of a music-producing public medium near you, be it television, stage or radio, and don’t say we didn’t warn you..... Here a Review that just sums us lot up Enjoy... ..9weeks Tour Review.. ..One Fan to Another REVIEW.. ..So as a gigger this is definitely one band worthy of blog attention; from a rainy night in Peterborough I was undecided about this band-were they too much ‘hard rock’ for me? I reserved judgement, so with short notice, the opportunity to divulge in good music and Manchester almost local it was always too hard to resist; I decided to check out these guys one more time, put my predictions to the test and for once I can admit with a smile I am pleased I was wrong... ..After a week feeling soul destroyed by sell outs I dragged myself at brake neck speeds from work and into a journey with a gig friend I have so greatly missed; SatNav misbehaving we tried to get our bearings unwittingly we had already arrived (it’s the blondes within us!). The venue; The Studio; small, intimate with a good vibe-I worried at crowd numbers and timings of a beat a little concerning to the ear. The guys entered looking ever like stars and yet grounded... ..I was pushed to the front feeling a little awkward as a General Fiasco novice standing with amongst hardcore devotees but as they struck the first chords of a song that had been playing in my car since May gone were the thoughts of hard thrash rock. The levels were perfect and quickly adjusted from confident band members who were not afraid to make it the best they could. As Im on top of everything sang out the precision of harmonies flowed showing off the professionalism and talent of this band. This band show substance; with a great singer-his voice strong and unique swiftly made the previous sounds of the CD fade into a forgotten era; General Fiasco are like the phoenixes rising from the ashes and soon to hit and alight the world with their effervescent glow. They showed their unity and ease with one another; which, as they grow accustomed with the new front man will only increase the strength and versatility of this band... ..This bands sound will take them far; carried on great guitar riffs of perfectly placed highs and lows riding the waves of angst to rocked out love songs that put you in a good place. Although they are rock in the perfect sense of the word, this is not thrash but sounds reminiscent of days when we were allowed to rock out; far away from four piece formations that gain the attention of 14 year olds-this is solid music built on firm foundations of talent, hard work and belief in music. I can understand their successes and what my music guru friend has been trying to tell me. I can also understand why they keep getting appoacked by big stars such as Bono,Westlife,Robbie William,G Barlow from Take That wanting these guys songs it just goes to show the talent Im talking here but yet as I mentioned earlier these guys turn down these offers and stay ever so grounded and don't let that fact go to there heads. Joshua maybe as the Writer but yet any Writer of his level would I know I would if I was in his shoes. For a band with limited time to rehearse they are unified and adaptable showing passion for what they believe and talent to deliver this at every level. Regardless of their young ages they have the professionalism of an established 40 year strong band, a far cry away from some of today’s acts. The only disappointment was the last song came too soon... ..Joshua just has that way of bringing the best out of every song that he sings he just has that talent even tho with the cheekyness behind him he sure knows how to make you feel special and all I can do is give you a tip try and catch his eyes while he performs these songs believe me I never knew a guy could make me melt as much as he did that night. Aside from that the self penned tunes and production the essence of General Fiasco is their belief in music; they have not been turned by fame nor use it as vessel for higher gains; these guys definitely have the stamina to party rock ‘n’ roll style but unlike other bands I have seen grow and succumb to recognition these guys will always invite you along for the ride. They make time for idle banter, carry their own guitars and are not too eager to stick to well rehearsed sets. They genuinely appear to care about what they are doing; taking time to write music with meaning and whether they play to 50 or 5000 they aim to deliver every time. This is a band I would implore you to see; they have potential for success. They have rejuvenated my faith that musicians can be talented, good looking and nice people. Still at novice status I hopefully write a balanced review. So can I think of General Fiasco why I’m plugging this band? Overnight I’ve come up with many more. One thing I have learnt from a Cold Jan night in Manchester is that while you’re living you need to check out this band because they will definitely give you a night to remember and more reasons to feel alive... .. ...... ......Plain MySpace Layouts by Iron Spider................ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REFU0HqSMKQ&feature=player_embedded
