It's just over two weeks until the slimiest event on the Venturer calendar! Don't forget to bring your Venturer units and Scout Troops along to Hallowe'en Jelly Wrestling on Sat, Oct 31 from 2-5pm at Fullarton Scout Hall.
WANT TO WRESTLE? We are in desperate need of people to enter the competition! Entries close Oct 24th so enter online NOW at http://tr.im/jellywrestling and bring a Y4 form on the day. The competition is open to Scouts, Guides and Venturers.
The winner of each competition (Men's & Women's) will receive a lovely trophy and a prize, and all wrestlers who enter the competition will receive a free soft drink!
If you think wrestling isn't your thing, you can still come along and cheer along the brave souls in the Jelly Pit, play a game of Spaceball or dance to the music. (Y4 and bike helmet required for Spaceball) Food and drinks will also be available for purchase.
Tickets are $8 and include a chance to win a fabulous door prize.

Venturer Retreat - Friday August 21st - Sunday August 23rd
The Venturer Retreat is a weekend away to get you all thinking about some of the more spiritual and emotional side of life - morals, values, life choices, and things that are important to you, your friends, your family and all of humanity. The course will allow you to complete your Ideals 1/Venturer Award Ideals, but even if you don’t care about the badgework, we are sure you’ll come home with a fresh outlook on life and hopefully you’ll discover something more about yourself too.

With your team of espionage experts, together with the best in high-tech gadgetry from Q's laboratory, you will have four days to cross hostile terrain, infiltrate secret bunkers, and bivouac in remote locations.
Use disguises, steal doomsday device plans, avoid a burn notice, and save the world. Or rule it, if that's your preference.
It's a spy versus spy world out there, and only one organisation can be on top. Keep your wits about you, drive a fast car, and make sure your drinks are shaken, not stirred.
Entries for the SA Venturer Jelly Wrestling Competition close in ONE WEEK, on Friday, Sep 19. So now's the time to prove that you've got what it takes!

Forms are now up for the second and final Leadership Course for 2008!
This time around the course is being held outside of the Adelaide Metropolitan area (for the first time in 4 years) and will be held on the weekend 6th-7th September down in Mount Gambier. (so if you are in adelaide you will have to do some extra work to organise travel down there).

Its Bloody HOT!!! So really the best time to think about Water type activities. As you should have heard about LOCO is rowing down the murray (again) and looking for other interested people. April Friday 18th (Border of SA/VIC/NSW) till Sunday 27th (Morgan-ish). you dont have to come for the whole time, come for a few days if you want and have some fun. would be great to have some of you along. I need Expressions of Interest by teh end of this month (march) so we can start detailed planning. so let me know via loco@senet.com.au
There was talk at Supersplash last year of a joint LOCO/Lyndoch Water activities camp at Roonka... looking at programs (branch/district) we are going to offer the weekend of 15-17 August as a water activites camp so hopefully that fits into your program somehow.
