About me:
Welcome to the 1st Marine Logistics Group myspace page. We will be uploading the stories, photos and videos of the 1st MLG on this page to keep everyone informed of what is going on out here.
The 1st MLG is located at Camp Pendleton, Calif., with units in Twentynine Palms, Calif. The 1st Marine Logistics Group is responsible and committed to providing the logistical support to the ground combat element in regions of Iraq, Afghanistan, Djibouti and other countries which Marines may be deployed to.

1st MLG Background - Comprised of approximately 2,000 Marines and Sailors and located in Camp Taqaddum, the 1st MLG is the main combat logistics support element for MNF-W. The 1st MLG has subordinate elements assigned to Al Asad, Al Qaim, Haditha, Fallujah, Ramadi and Taqaddum performing a variety of jobs including: transportation and distribution of personnel and supplies; maintenance of all Marine equipment including vehicles, weapons systems, and electronics; trauma and surgical care; general engineering in support of MNF-W; communications networks for the command and control of Marine logistics forces; military police to escort convoys; and explosive ordnance disposal teams to disarm and destroy IEDs and weapons caches.
The unit’s deployment is planned for at least twelve months with some Marines and sailors rotating at approximately seven months.
