.. 2012 is the solo effort of Mike Kirkland of The Sailing. Hoping to blend together theatrical exploits and Space Rock to create Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Rock Operas, that will make the earth cry tears of blood! .. Our tale begins after The Sailing's "Infinity Gate" leaves all four members of the group dead at their own hands, and seeking out new homes for the spirits to inhabit. Mikyael now traversing the cosmos in his new body is sought out by the agents of his creation. These celestial beings tell of the continued efforts of The Galasume Empire to control and destroy everything in the known universe. Mikyeal learns that the efforts of the Empire have been concentrated to a small solar system revolving around twin suns. Robbing each planet of precious metals and resources. They strive to create the most powerful weapon ever devised... "The Sun Canon". .. Our hero knows that the people of these worlds have been brainwashed into acting out the plans of the empire, and seeks to travel to the last remaining planet to tell the inhabitants that there is hope for a different path. That if they choose to revolt against the empire, and unite as one that they could save billions of worlds from utter annihilation. .. Can he muster the week willed slaves of these hopeless lands? Or will the strains of this task be his undoing? Follow along and await the tale of..... .. .. " THE SUN CANON " ..
