Interests

  • General

Qualified FA football coach & have run several boys and girls football teams (juniors, aged 8-16) with some success and much enjoyment - my club is Norton & Stockton Ancients - their senior side plays in the Northern League.
  • Music

Suzi Q, Chris Norman, Smokie, Sweet, & Mud. Also Saw Doctors - great lyrics about real life - & Rod Stewart.
  • Movies

All time favourite movie is undoubtedly The Warriors - 1979 New York gang, takes place almost entirely at night - great soundtrack too
  • Television

I like to settle down & get into something so I look out for the 2 hour ITV productions, Frost, Midsummer Murders (I already liked it before Suzi starred!!) - love the new Dr Who, and enjoy the Real Hustle - if you've seen it you'll know what I mean - are people really soooo gullible????
  • Books

Autobiographies - looking forward to Naked...., read a fair number of sport bio's, Brian Clough (both), Stuart Pearce -
  • Heroes

Don't have many heroes - Suzi, Chris as mentioned - and I'll probably get hammered for admitting it, but Mrs Thatcher! She was just such a strong individual, lots of respect for what she achieved in what was a man's world, 1970's Britain - politician mirror of Suzi, sort of...Oh, and Alan Ball (my all-time favourite player - did I mention I'm a lifelong Arsenal fan?), and probably Arsene Wenger.

About me:

Just a guy tryin' to get through life! Happy, family life with wife Michelle, kids Stephen (18 and now in the Royal Navy), Lauren (15) who's now seen Suzi Q twice, & German Shepherd & great big softie Dax (3)! Work for Department for Children Schools & Families, previously the Dep't for Education & Skills, enjoy my work. Recently quit dj work - was playing Middlesbrough's busiest bar & playing Suzi as much as I could - "gentle" was such a hit in there, always played it as the last song & people waited for it coming on.

Who I'd like to meet:

Suzi - and not be stuck for something to say other than mindless drivel! And, another long-term hero of mine, still buy all his albums, and another who continues to make new records and tour with a selection of new & old material, rarely in the UK though - Chris Norman (of Stumblin' In/Smokie fame but better known in his own right outside of the UK). Seems I knew how to pick a good idol back in the 1970's, both Suzi & Chris still goin' strong - my kids won't be saying that about Girls Aloud & 50 Cent in 30+ years I'm sure!!!

Hi, Steve... have you still got that pic of me & Suzi, you took at the signing? If so, can I see it? On mine, we're not looking at the camera.

    Cheers,
