Well, right now we have a lot of adjusting to do- new state, new jobs, new day care for Leilani, and setting up our new home etc.
When we're awake and in the same location at the same time, we do things with the baby- show her the world- people- animals-plants etc. .
We also have fantasies that when things calm down we'll have time for leisure...travel, reading for pleasure, going to the beach and being able to lay down etc...
*It seems like this stage of marriage is all about planning- we're planning to visit family, planning for kids, maybe a new(er) car when Marion's car dies, and eventually, depending on the number of kids and amount of disorder, perhaps a bigger place...
Music
Right now we're listenig to a lot of classical music because it is soothing and might be good for the baby. We also plan on listening to language tapes for fun and books on tape to make story time easier when mommy hasn't slept enough to handle Dr. Seuss.
Movies
Thank God for videos, they're cheap and plentiful. We like to wind down with a movie from Blockbuster after dinner, Marion uses it as an excuse to sleep, Eileen uses it as an excuse to catch up w/her e-mail.
Television
We watch videos- or tv shows on DVD- and we like all sorts of movies and shows. Right now we're working our way through all of last season's TV shows.
Books
Reading to the baby- that's all. We have vague, pretty memories of reading grown-up books for pleasure once upon a time, and eventually we'll have to pick up our business books again.
Heroes
People who stand up for their beliefs- who work toward building global and local community and who speak up for themselves and those whose voices are not heard.
*We met on October 1st 2004 at Diane's birthday at Sebastian and Charade's house. Four years has gone by quickly!
*Our first kiss was on Marion's 23rd birthday (and was amazing!)- on a cliff in Palos Verdes, right before the cops came and told us we couldn't park there, and we had to call Marion's dad to get a jump start because Marion's battery died. Not the best first impression on the father-in-law! (same location and event- one year later)
*Marion asked Eileen to be his girlfriend while in the Irvine Medical Center cafeteria on December 3rd, 2004.
*Marion proposed on April 23rd 2005 at 11:30ish at night on the 110 North in Eileen's car. Thank God there wasn't any traffic...
*We got married in Idyllwilde, Ca on June 24th 2005. Just the two of us and 2 witnesses. We got married in a Church garden on a Friday afternoon and spent a wonderful 3 day weekend in a B&B in the mountains.:)
*Although we lived together for about 4 months after getting married in Eileen's Glendale apartment, our first place of our own was in beautiful El Segundo, CA. We moved to El Segundo September '05- and we loved that place. We loved El Segundo and couldn’t ask for better neighbors! We lived there for 2 and a half years before moving to Hawaii. There we got our dog Dixie and had wonderful friends. El Segundo was also Leilani's first home and the first place she went to school.
*Our wedding (one year after we were married- took a while to save up!) was in Palos Verdes, Ca. on June 24th 2006. Probably all marriages have rough starts, but ours has been pretty darn good- we are so thankful for the amount of stability we have! Most of our dearest friends and family were with us to celebrate our marriage.
*We feel very lucky to have eachother- especially in such a crazy world. We're very lucky to have amazing friends, amazing family, and even though we're both a bit nutty - an amazing love.
*April 30th 2006 added a furry additon to our family! Dixie is a sweet, 4 1/2 yr old 22 lb Terrier mix. We are very happy to have her in our family!
She is now great on the leash and with other dogs, great with people and very well behaved in-doors(except that she'll eat anything left unattended), but it took a while... We got her from Rover Rescue in Redondo Beach where she was saved from a high-kill shelter.
Awww- just look at that face!
*Now we have a daughter!!! On August 3, 2006 we found out we were going to have a baby.
Pregnancy was an exciting time!
Leilani at 4 mo old
Eileen went into labor at 2:14am on Wednesday April 11th 2007. Leilani Olivia Moran was born at 5:22 am the same day. She is an Aries born in the year of the Golden Pig!
*On March 31st 2008 we relocated to Oahu. We bought our first house, have new jobs and daycare, and are excited about this new, Hawaiian chapter of our lives together.
*June 2008 we welcome our new friend Keanu- a 9 mo old Chocolate Lab mix- to our family! He's kind of hyper but such a sweetie!
* *Marion works at the Bank of Hawaii in Honolulu- he is an IT Guru… Eileen is a Program Administrator for CARE Hawaii in Honolulu and takes care of Leilani… and Marion… and Dixie. Leilani goes to Kama'aina Kids (daycare) M-F until 4pm, then spends some time with grandma and grandpa before being picked up by mom and dad. Dixie and Keanu bark and eat things.
*We are very much in love and are enjoying getting our yard in shape, having visitors at our new home and getting to know the island more.
It is amazing that she is already so big! The time has just flown by. Leilani at 14 mo old We are crazy about her and look forward learning more about her and raising our beautiful daughter to be a strong, smart little girl...
Anyone who has hand-me-downs- please keep us in mind! :)
Who I'd like to meet: People who live in Waipahu or Mililani, HI. Nice people. Smart people. Helpful people. People who can tell us the magical secret of how to balance our time between work, married life, friends, and a baby!!!
