Hallelewya! Irgendwo im Norden, wo das Land platt ist wie 'ne Flunder,
befreiten 20/20 VISION den Blues aus seinem Hügelgrab.
Klar, dass dieser sich bis dato nicht gewaschen hat. Klar aber auch, dass der
Band das gut in den Kram passt, und man seitdem einen Sound pflegt,
der warm und rauh ist, wie frisch dem Mutterboden entrissen.
Bass und
Schlagzeug harmonieren derart, dass man sich ständig einem wohltuenden
Druck ausgesetzt fühlt, etwa wie wenn ein lieber Mensch auf einem liegt.
Die Gitarre zerrt und weept, scheppert und groovt als wäre sie als Kind in den Zaubertrank
gefallen.
Die Jungs verstehen es einfach, das energiefreundliche Konzept des Trios
zu nutzen, zollen hier dem kapitalen Riff den gebührenden Respekt, heben dort den
Gesang auf den Thron, bevor dann das Wurmloch aufgeht, und man sich bereitwillig hineinsaugen lässt.
20/20 VISION sind eine Bluesband - aber eine, die Blues als solide Basis für
ausschweifende Unternehmungen nutzt.
THE BAND
Hallelewya! Somewhere in the North where the countryside is as flat as a plaice 20/20 Vision set free the Blues from its grave mound. Sure enough it was anything but clean as a whistle then. But sure enough this suits the band fine and they’ve been cultivating a warm and earthy sound since then.
Bass and drums are harmonizing in a way that you feel exposed to a pleasant pressure all the time as if a beloved person lies down on you.
The guitar jerks and weeps and clanks as if she fell into a tub of magic potion when she was a child.
The boys simply understand to make use of the energetic trio concept; they take their hat off to the solid rock riff and then take the audience for a ride through psychedelic places up to the hill where the wormhole opens to draw everybody in.
20/20 VISION is a blues band which uses the blues as a solid base for broad ventures.
