Comedies e.g. Blazing Saddles, The Producers (original), Horror films and thrillers-usually anything by Alfred Hitchcock. Anchorman, Monty Python films, Borat, Michael Moore films. The Untouchables, Unforgiven, The Departed.
Television
I hate reality television as it's mindnumbing and it keeps Simon Cowell in work. I love comedies especially Dead Ringers, Bremner, Bird and Fortune and the Mitchell and Webb look, the IT Crowd. The classics are the best though: Blackadder, Yes Minister, Spitting Image, Father Ted and Fawlty Towers. The House of Cards Trilogy
Books
Homage to Catalonia and 1984 by George Orwell-great books by a great literary mind. I like history books and the new book by Andrew Marr "Modern History of Britain" accompaning the TV series of the same title is a good read. I am also fond of the works of Colin Dexter-Inspector Morse and will read most auto-biographies or biographies to do with currrent affairs or politics. The strange death of liberal england by George Dangerfield, Philip Pullman trilogy. Michael Dobbs' "The House of Cards." The Lion and the unicorn: Gladstone v. Disraeli, Admiral Collingwood: Nelson's Hero are all good reads I have enjoyed recently.
Heroes
Jo Grimond, Rowan Atkinson, Andrew Marr, Sir Trevor "Ronald" McDonald, Lord David Steel, Franklin Roosevelt, Asquith, Lloyd George and groucho journalist Jonathon Humphrys
About me: I'm a fan of cricket, football and rugby and am a campaigner on the environment, civil liberties and poverty: 3 causes which I believe will define our generation. I studied and got 4 A's in Politics, History, English Lit and Welsh at A Level in Coleg Gwent and from september I will be doing a degree in Modern History and Politics at Cardiff University.
Who I'd like to meet: Ginger people from across the world, Charles Kennedy to see how a ginger person actually became fairly successful, a person who could put a fruit pastell on their tongue and resist the urge to chew it.
