About me:

SRI DHARMA PRAVARTAKA ACHARYA

Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya (Dr. Frank Morales, Ph.D.) is currently one of the very few Western born spiritual teachers to be fully recognized by the orthodox Hindu community globally as an authentic Dharma Master. He is a fully self-realized sage.

Sri Acharyaji was born in New York City of Spanish and Italian parents. He has been living and teaching in the Midwest for the last 21 years.

From his earliest childhood experiences, down to the very present day, his life has been dedicated to the active pursuit of Truth. Throughout his life, Sri Acharyaji tried to not only pursue a philosophical understanding of life’s ultimate meaning, but he also put what he found into practice in his own life. At an early age, Sri Acharyaji realized that it’s not enough to just have an intellectual understanding of Truth, but that Truth – if it’s going to have any real meaning at all – has to be vividly lived in our everyday lives.

Sri Acharyaji's own journey led him to follow the path of Yoga spirituality and Sanatana Dharma (commonly misnamed “Hinduism”). Sanatana Dharma is a path that has provided many millions of people with profound answers to life’s meaning, and that provides a lifestyle that is healthy, balanced, joyful, and fun! Sri Acharyaji has been intensely practicing Sanatana Dharma for the last 35 years.

In his search for Truth, Sri Acharyaji lived as a Hindu monk for six years on three continents, traveled to India twice, and took initiation in India as an orthodox Hindu priest in 1986.

He earned a B.A. in Philosophy and Theology from Loyola University Chicago, as well as an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Thus, Sri Acharyaji is one of the few Dharma Masters today to have coupled spiritual realization with academic scholarship. Sri Acharyaji is currently a globally recognized spiritual teacher and Dharma Master, Hindu religious leader, and a noted writer.

Sri Acharyaji is currently the Resident-Acharya (Spiritual Preceptor) of the Hindu Temple of Nebraska, which represents the first time in American history that a non-Indian has been awarded this office. He is also the President and Acharya of the International Sanatana Dharma Society, a global movement designed to share the life-transforming gifts of Dharma with the world.

In addition to teaching the philosophy of Sanatana Dharma, Sri Acharyaji encourages his students to have a serious life of dedicated practice; and he teaches what it means to practice Truth in everyday life by his own vivid example to all.

Sri Acharyaji stresses the idea that it is not enough to grasp Truth intellectually or conceptually, but that what it truly means to know God is to have a radically experiential transformation in ones’ inner being such that God’s presence becomes an every-day reality in the life of the spiritual practitioner.

In addition to teaching Sanatana Dharma, Sri Acharyaji also writes about the wisdom of many ancient spiritual cultures, and the many connections between pre-Christian European religions (such as Druidism, Asatru, and Religio Romana) and Yoga spirituality. The pre-Christian European religions and Sanatana Dharma are sister paths and expressions of the greater Dharma tradition.

Do you have a sincere interest in such things as Dharma, Yoga, meditation, Hinduism, God, and spirituality? If you find yourself yearning to experience spirituality in a truly vivid and dynamic way, Sri Acharyaji’s students are available to offer spiritual guidance, and to answer sincere questions. Please feel free to contact us today.

I've seen the light
and it's in you ...
in everything you are
and in everything you do.

It's a perfect light that
shines for all to see;
in fact it shines so brightly,
it's pierced the heart of me.

The light is from a friend,
it's a light that keeps me warm;
it lets me know how loved I am
and keeps me safe from harm.

FOR YOU I AM THANKFUL
in so very many ways,
and you lift up my spirits
each and every day.

To know that you are there for me
makes me feel alive;
it is your friendship's light upon
which my own love thrives.

Though 'thank you' isn't good enough,
they're the only words I know,
to say your light of friendship
gives my world its glow.

It's the simple things in life
that are truly unforgettable

Thanks for sharing your light with me ...

The glory of friendship is not the
outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile,
nor the joy of companionship;
it is the spiritual inspiration that comes
to one when he discovers that someone
else believes in him and is willing to
trust him with his friendship.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Namaste Shri Pravartaka

Thank you for accepting my friend request as you mirror a lot of my experiences of being a hindu who is western. I am also disadvantaged as there is no mandir close to me, so I have do interact with people on the net.

I listen to your messages and it strikes a chord, the main one being that many family members think I am indian and I somehow like you feel very much at home, as well as a born asian hindu saying to me "I must have been born hindu" I have always been into hinduism and I have Shri Ganesha ji beside my computer and if anyone took him away, I'd feel lost, I'm a shaivite and feel close to Shri Mahadeva.

I am in the middle of training to be a holistic/ayurvedic practioner with a view to opening my own practice to promote our dharma. My little bit of india if you like.

Om Shanti!
Leah

In the New Testament it is taught, "Our Father who art in heaven" — God living in the heavens separated from men. We are living on earth and He is living in heaven. Further on we find the teaching that He is a God immanent in nature; He is not only God in heaven, but on earth too. He is the God in us. In the Hindu philosophy we find a stage of the same proximity of God to us. But we do not stop there. There is the non-dualistic stage, in which man realises that the God he has been worshipping is not only the Father in heaven, and on earth, but that "I and my Father are one." He realises in his soul that he is God Himself, only a lower expression of Him. All that is real in me is He; all that is real in Him is I. The gulf between God and man is thus bridged. Thus we find how, by knowing God, we find the kingdom of heaven within us.

Angels come to help and guide
us in as many guises as there are
people who need their
assistance.
Sometimes we see
their ethereal, heavenly shadow,
bright with light and radiance.

Sometimes we only feel their nearness
or hear their whisper.
And sometimes
they look no different from ourselves.
