Everyone is in my band... not all of you know but I'm pretty sure most suspect it...
Influences
The creative process is quite mystery to me... it's strange to me how all us musicians are "original" and still so influenced by the world around us and the music we like. I can't tell anyone who my influences are, I've excepted the fact that those I think I am influenced by turn out to be a wind while those I never gave any thought to are a waterfall.
Sounds Like
A christmas song sung by a choir of corn... and clouds singing bass!
I was born in a little metropolis. The sun was rising that evening and I remember it like it were the day I was born. A thought process has turned into a theory that became a tree and I picked an apple from that tree when I was a young man and became a child again. the seeds from the apple I picked grew in my belly and a song was born. Thought became action and reaction and what was broken became busted all together.
I was new... like a vintage that you never new about. I looked to the sky and I told Him, "I like this being new but it gets to itching like I'm old." So there I was. An old man in a brand new sweater or the other way around I guess and I was unhappy. So I got a new sweater and here I am!
hey, man, hope you didn't drop off the face of the earth like I did for, like, a month and a half. My husband just turned 40 and me and a friend threw him and her husband a dual surprise party. It turned out so cool! So now that is over I am thinking more about music, LOL! I'm sure whatever u got going on, you'll come back here again eventually! Until then, peace!
yeah, man. i kinda think the hair looks better than my previous bald head. i might need a trim, though. when you get those new songs done and up, please do tell me. but yeah, i've made a lot of positive changes. i don't drink or anything anymore. i still smoke cigarettes. hope i can quit that some day, preferably soon. got my GED. =D should've stuck out high school and got a diploma, but i didn't, so the GED will have to suffice. it's good hearing from you. your apparent shock at the length of my hair made me laugh. i always thought you were a really cool guy, even though some of my friends make fun of me for it. they just never took the time to get to know you, and that's their problem. it's sad how people can let misconceptions based entirely on speculation keep them from enjoying things. i'd stay in touch more, but my phone got water damaged and i lost your number, and my computer broke for a while.

"Bright Brown Eyes" reminds me a lot of the Dave Matthews Band's early stuff, like when they first came on the scene in the 90's...but your music is very warm and engaging, not cynical. Theirs had a subtle note of cynicism lyrically...yours is wistful.
My album "Change Of Plans" is finally out! You can find it in stores, online, and of course you can get you one from me also. Check out my website www.phillipjay.com. There's a link to buy it on there.
