HISTORY
~*~Very interesting thoughts, pondering how to explain who I am here in My Space. My close friends know who I am. And, so a short bit about me to those who do not know me personally. I live in in a nice home in Phoenix, Arizona with my partner and our three Umbrella Cockatoos. My love for my country and my desire to move into a different kind of life than I could see for myself had I stayed in my home state of Oklahoma inspired me to join the US Military. I served eight years in the US Navy. My chosen profession is as a Television News Photojournalist. I now work for a television station as a News Photojournalist in Phoenix, Arizona.~*~

RAY HARRYHAUSEN
~*~
I met Mr. Harryhausen in his home in London. He was such a nice charming fellow.
When I was working in London with Joan Fontaine I had some time off and rang him up and after a nice chat he invited me over and we talked about films and living in California. His very nice wife who’s name escapes me at the moment brought us beers and she had lemonade. I wasn’t working on anything very impressive but told him of my working in Europe on the film The Good King. I was just the actress’s assistant. But I had once wanted to work in animation . He showed me his awesome gallery of models from his films. At the time he’d just returned from the foundry where they’d cast some of his sculptures in bronze. Well, Mr Harryhausen was an idol of mine from when I was younger and to have met and visited him in his home was very special and memorable experience.

Ray Harryhausen is the creator of so many fantasy film moments. The Dynamation short (above) promotes his film The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad. One of my all time favorite films.

Wolfgang Reitherman, one of Disney's famed
"Nine Old Men"...
Though I never "met" Wolfgang Reitherman... He had invited me to visit to his ranch north of Los Angeles. He was almost a mentor. Or at that time I was seeking one in my desire to be a Character Animator. (NEVER HAPPENED) But his gesture to a young me meant a great deal. Sadly he died in an auto accident.

When I was a kid…growing up Mom and I would sit up late and watch the Late-Late Show… They’d show old classic movies….Fast forward at least 12 years. And I had an interview for a Major-Domo job with one of the very “classic” film stars still living. She's in the secluded posh area of Carmel Highlands California. I got the job. The actress to whom I was employeed was Joan Fontaine.

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
Thanks for the friendship!
Just wanted to let you know that my new album "Raw" is out on Friday, May 15th!
take care!
