Fair Trade Brattleboro is a local, grassroots initiative whose mission is to promote Fair Trade education, products, and businesses within the Brattleboro community in order to encourage sustainable solutions to poverty around the world. * * * *The Fair Trade Brattleboro Resolution was approved at the Selectboard Meeting on June 26, 2007, making Brattleboro, Vermont the First Fair Trade Town in New England & the second in the nation!!!! * * * * We are thrilled to announce that the majority of the Brattleboro Selectboard voted to support the Resolution, a proclamation developed by the Brattleboro Fair Trade Steering Committee. This fulfills the final criteria for officially becoming a Fair Trade Town, set forth by the UK Fairtrade Federation. * * * * Fair Trade Brattleboro is excited to announce the launching of a new campaign in town-- Buy Local Buy Fair. This campaign aims to support vendors in town who engage in encomically sustainable and socially responsible economic practices, both locally and globally.
