Heroes
Everyone who stands up and says that their culture is important and more importantly that following Christ and his teachings is important. Everyone who feels sadness and anger rise in them when they see either a clearcut, a strip mine, or a bag of "Billy Bob teeth" at the tourist stand.
D. Bonhoffer, MLK Jr. and all the folks who stood up and still stand up to injustice regardless of if anyone knows their name. The early anabaptists, the early disciples, all the conscientious objectors that resisted going to war out of love for Christ and for neighbor. Those who do it for Jesus Christ, & each other, from the heart.

About me: Well, I love God. It's that simple. I get excited about it. By the grace of God I left my construction and hotel repair jobs and now work for Christians for the Mountains, focused on raising awareness and working towards social justice and environmental justice throughout Appalachia, but especially in the Appalachian coalfields.
I'm currently booking presentations about Mountaintop Removal and social justice in the coalfields. (email me for more info) and view www.christiansforthemountains.org
I have a lot of interest in Bible study, serving the Church and the community. I'm currently studying at Eastern Mennonite Seminary. I'm socially active but I just cannot align myself with any political party, since both parties seem to come short of fulling representing the gospel. I believe in Love and non-resistance, and I like to bake, especially pies. I enjoy playing old-time music and old country as well as celtic and I love classical as well as old hymns - a cappella or with accompaniment - whether sung in a small country church, a front porch, or an old cathedral.
Some of my main interests include preserving rural culture and the land. I also love the outdoors and hiking/camping, fishing and hunting (not trophy hunting- but subsistence hunting), gardening, and have huge interest in pioneering and homesteading. I get particularly excited around wild turkey season but certainly do appreciate deer season too.
no I'm not a trophy hunter. I can't even stand the concept.
I'm also into herbalism, basically folk medicine.
Who I'd like to meet: other socially and environmentally conscious Christians and activists, humbly seeking to do God's will and serve Jesus Christ always being aware that at any time we may be either turning away or entertaining angels.

hello! it was great meeting you at seedtime last weekend. hope our paths cross again soon. we will play the carter family fold this saturday there in virginia!
Oh miss Sally Ann had a birthday!! She's a year old! Thanks for looking into the plane ticket info. I really don't think I could drive out there just for a few days (it would be better to fly). I'm sure UW is where I want to be for school, now I think it would be smart for me to see Laramie before I relocate 1500 miles from home. Much Love
