The movement arrived at an important time for the 209, which includes the cities of Stockton and Modesto in California. Between 1999 and 2004 Stockton spent more than $100 million constructing entertainment venues, including the 10,000-seat Stockton Arena. Meanwhile, as a result of its emphasis on nightlife and entertainment, Modesto has seen its travel and tourism revenue double to more than $400 million over the last decade.
Yet until 209Vibe209Vibe launched there was no comprehensive entertainment or music publication for the 209.
Now the 209Vibe movement is here to let the world know about the area’s emerging entertainment scene while also offering talented local artists networking and professional development opportunities.
The movement began with the launch of 209Vibe.com in August 2007. The response was remarkable and enthusiastic, as more than 260 musicians and entertainers added profiles to the site in the first two months. It led the movement to grow with the publication of the 209Vibe alt-monthly newspaper from December 2007-January 2009.
209Vibe remains committed to providing you with the latest and best information about one of the country’s underground entertainment hotspots.

Station to station I walked glancing in between each passing, two eyes each, meeting in the center. Lets sit down. She said music and math are infinite in themselves. She said the bongos dance the indians in everyones head. We wear the carcass of our form; watch the transformation.
