Bio
Band bios generally consist of language about ashes and (unavoidably) phoenixes rising from said ashes and then a little bit about who plays what and how thunderously or propulsively. Let's dispense with all that and get down to what you really wanna know about TWENTIETH CENTURY TOKYO PRINCESS!.. .. Christopher Jones is the worldliest member and can listen to over 20 different languages! Most days find him cruising around in a 1966 Mustang Coupe ("with the I6" he says) and listening to his favorite Northern Soul numbers on a souped up stereo! Christopher has an obsession with Testors Snap-Tite model kits, and says his faves are warplanes from the Vietnam and World War II eras. What a guy! He tells us his dream date would be to eat broccoli on the hood of the '66 Mustang with you, parked on top of Montmartre Hill, in front of the Sacré-Coeur...minutes after the sun sets... More About Christopher... Fave Hair Color: Turbinado Blonde... Fave Girl's names: Astrid & Zoe... Fave Colors: Metallic Blue & Amethyst... Hometown: Bull Run, VA .. Ted Clark seems quite a serious character indeed! Though he claims to be "always joking", none of his friends say they are aware that he has a sense of humor at all! How about that? Ted lives in a former police station stacked to the rafters with records, organs and all kinds of cast-off junk from the last century. He has a 1972 Mercedes-Benz 220D that he absolutely adores and says his favorite girls' names are Laura, Stacy, and Jane. He prefers music that is simple ("to the point of stupidity" he says) and was once nearly killed by the New Jersey National Guard. Ted's dream date with you would be to see if you could listen to the entirety of The Velvet Underground's "Sister Ray", and then hold your hand for a few minutes... More About Ted... Fave Hair Color: Red & Strawberry Blonde... Fave Pasttime: "Solitude."... Fave Food: Noodles... Hometown: Flat River, Missouri .. Jon Veite is the youngest member and the girls all call him "The Quiet One". Make no mistake, though...beneath the calm exterior beats the heart of a stallion! His composure in the most stressful of circumstances has pulled them all through more times than they can count, and the other boys in the band all confess a true admiration for him. Jon's "cool in a crisis" demeanor coupled with an Old World work ethic make him a real catch! He counts Built to Spill, Television and Dinosaur, Jr. among his faves as far as rock and roll is concerned. A master of subtlety, he prefers his wardrobe in warm colors and soft fabrics. Most Friday nights you can catch Jon cruising the Cincinnati streets on one of his prized Lambretta scooters, or down the darkest alley with the darkest chick he can find. Talk about danger!.. More About Jon... Fave Hair Color: Rich Golden Brown... Fave Food: Home-Cooked Fried Chicken... Fave Hobbies: Blissing out at the synthesizer and talking to fans... Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio .. Ryan Murphy is rarely seen in the daytime, preferring the dark environs of his study and the company of his favorite rare books. A connoisseur of life's finer things and what some might call a hopeless romantic, he appears distant in conversation. Rest assured, though, he is already miles ahead of you in terms of thought. In some circles he is known as "Tomorrow Man". Personal safety keeps us from elaborating. Depression-era blues music really makes him weak in the knees and he has been heard to say that it was "the last step in the evolution of music...everything else is redundant." .. More About Ryan Murphy... Fave Hair Color: Black Fave Girls Names: "whatever sounds like a tough cheerleader" Fave Car: Black Fave Food: None .. .. -
