2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy's Blurbs |
About me:
The 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy is a volunteer and collectively run organization, committed to fighting gender oppression, especially as it relates to communities of colour, First Nations and Indigenous people, transsexual, transgendered and/or intersex people, Deaf people, women, LGB, Queer & Questioning people, people who experience sizeism, sex workers, low income people and people with disabilities.
Located in a wheelchair accessible space at Concordia University's downtown campus, we offer a number of services to people in Montreal:
-peer counseling, information and referrals
-a free alternative resourse library that includes periodicals, children's books audio books and videos
-trans-specific referrals, information, websites and resource lists
-educational classes/workshops & alternative movie series
-support groups and discussion groups
-free syringes for hormone users
-free TTY phone
Classes and workshops take place on evenings and weekends. The majority of our services are free/low cost and aim to be as accessible as possible (wheelchair accessible spaces, free childcare, bus tickets, and translation/interpretation). Our programs and services are open to everyone!
