Remember our new slogan, "ROCK UR GREEN" check out our Myspace page.
And now a Green Tip for the day.
Here's 10 Ways to Go Green at Work:
1. Be bright about light - Make it a habit to turn off the lights when you're leaving any room for 15 minutes or more and utilize natural light when you can.
2. Maximize computer efficiency - Make it a habit to turn off your computer—and the power strip it's plugged into—when you leave for the day. Otherwise, you're still burning energy even if you're not burning the midnight oil.
3. Print smarter - Make it a habit to print on both sides or use the back side of old documents for faxes, scrap paper, or drafts. Avoid color printing and print in draft mode whenever feasible.
4. Go paperless when possible - Make it a habit to think before you print: could this be read or stored online instead? When you receive unwanted catalogs, newsletters, magazines, or junk mail, request to be removed from the mailing list before you recycle the item.
5. Ramp up your recycling - Make it a habit to recycle everything your company collects. Just about any kind of paper you would encounter in an office, including fax paper, envelopes, and junk mail, can be recycled. So can your old cell phone, PDA, or pager.
6. Close the loop - Make it a policy to purchase office supplies and furniture made from recycled materials.
7. Watch what (and how) you eat - Make it a habit to bring your own mug and dishware for those meals you eat at the office.
8. Rethink your travel - Make it a habit to take the train, bus, or subway when feasible instead of a rental car when traveling on business.
9. Reconsider your commute - Make it a habit to carpool, bike, or take transit to work, and/or telecommute when possible. If you need to drive occasionally
Do you love the movies? I know I do and I can bet you can name at least 5 other friends of yours that likes the movies as well.
When you go to the movies usually you buy a ticket (For you and your partner) Soda and snacks etc. But, the most popular is POPCORN, you guessed it! Did you know that you can also "STAY GREEN" even at the theaters? Here's how.
Here is the tip of the day for when you go to the movies:
Share your popcorn when you're at the movies instead of buying multiple cartons or bags. -You'll save money and packaging. Today young and old consume seventeen billion quarts of popcorn each year (54 quarts per person), 30 percent of which are eaten at movie theaters, sporting events, entertainment arenas, amusement parks and other recreational centers. If half the people shared their popcorn, we could save the paper packaging for more than 2.5 billion quart-size servings.
Well, that's your end of the week tip of the day and ready for the weekend. I will be back at the end of next week with another GREEN info.
(Message from our CEO at Greener Global Solutions Inc. )
Dear Friend,
From an Antarctic research base and the Great Pyramids of Egypt to the Empire State Building in New York, illuminated patches of the globe went dark Saturday for Earth Hour, a campaign to highlight the threat of climate change.
Time zone by time zone, nearly 4,000 cities and towns in 88 countries joined the event sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund to dim nonessential lights from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The campaign began in Australia in 2007 and last year grew to 400 cities worldwide.
For those of you who have honored "Earth Day and the Hour of Darkness" by turning off your cell phones, unplugged your charger's and turned off the lights, Greener Global Solutions Inc. solutes your for doing your part. For 1 hour our team of Executives at Greener Global Solutions Inc., has been sitting in the dark with candles dim and burning from the corners of the rooms. We had the great opportunity to experience life without the extras, living like we should be.
Once again Thank all of you for joining in the "Earth Day and the Hour of Darkness". We are honored to be a part of your life and hope you allow us to continue to be.
Please do your part and place us on your list of top friends, to support "Hemp Fuel and Sustainability" We look forward to hear from you soon.
