About me: President of Women Empowering Women
Missionary Candace L. Green
First Lady of The New St. Mark COGIC Born July 19, 1968 in Hampton, Virginia, First Lady Candace L. Green became the fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin & Mary Melton. With the help of her three older sisters and one younger brother, her passion for young people rapidly developed.
With the Word of God being deeply rooted into her at a young age, she became an active member of St. Johns COGIC in Newport News, Virginia for nearly 34 years. While under her pastor, Bishop Samuel L Green Jr., she would proudly serve on several auxiliaries in the church, which would lead her to receive a host of awards and accomplishments, such as: Praise Dance Leader, Praise & Worship Team, Mass Choir President/Directress, Youth Choir Directress, Youth Leader, and 2nd Jurisdictional State Choir Directress.
She is an Alumnus of Hampton High School class of 1986. She attended Commonwealth Community College Business Administration as well as Thomas Nelson Community College Early Childhood Development. With her education, she moved on to teach Early Childcare for 8 years with NASA Child Development, venturing on to become a Troubleshooting Specialist at Canon for 5 years.
One of the happiest days of her life came on October 23, 1999 when she married her lifelong sweetheart Michael D. Green. This life changing event would catapult her into the wonderful flower we have before us today, none other than First Lady Candace L. Green. Under the leadership of her husband, Pastor Michael D. Green, she currently serves as the Church Administrator for The New St. Mark COGIC in Portsmouth Virginia, President of the Woman’s Department, Assistant Minister of Music, and a licensed Evangelist Missionary.
In the illustrious words of First Lady Candace Green “I Will Not Be Silent Any More” (Psalms 107 “let the redeemed of the Lord say so…”).
