Bio:

"Beating Hollow", a duet I co-created with dancer/choreographer Samir Calixto is selected for the Jur Naessens Music Prize: http://www.jnmprijs.nl. The piece is based on a composition for solo cello by Hans Huyssen, called Ugubu. Beating Hollow was performed @ the Korzo Theatre, Den Haag april 17th, 18th 23th, 24th, 25th and 26th. Besides that I just organized the Club Brooomm! festival where I performed together with my ensemble BROOOMM! and other inspiring dancers and musicians. BROOOMM! is a young ensemble that is passionate about new classical music. With the surprising combination of harpsichord, turntables, percussion, samples, saxophone and cello the quartet inspires composers to write new compositions. And there is more contemporary stuff: I'm a new member of ensemble Modelo62, an international group of musicians thet specializes in contemporary music. I love performing in music-theatre and dance performances as I'm doing with T.R.A.S.H., a dance group that makes raw performances with live music. I was one of the performers in "Piece of Cake", a music theatre piece that was created at ALBA TheaterHuis, Den Haag. With choregrapher Keith-Derrick Randolph, I worked on his piece 'Verlating' with music by Bach and some impro's. Besides my experience in the experimental rockband can_of_be, I specialized in Argentinean Tango with Orquesta Amago and the Gerard van Duinen Tango Trio. At the same time I play a lot of classical chamber music with different combinations. With my partner Roeland Drost on piano and accordeon I make a mix of Balkan, classical and Portugese music. I graduated in 2006 from the Fontys Conservatorium in Tillburg, where I studied with Paul Uyterlinde. Before that I was a student of Jeroen den Herder and Ran Varon in Utrecht and Zwolle.
