Here's what Clive Barker and Vinnie Jones have to say about Midnight Meat Train
"This will be an independent movie. When I say independent, I mean it won't go thru a major studio most likely. That will give us a certain latitude in the making of it, which I think is useful. Particularly useful for The Midnight Meat Train, because the subject matter is so intense. It's a story readers really like. I still get a lot letters about that story. I want to make sure when we do it, we do it justice. That really means doing it as a hard R, none of this PG-13. Not that I necessarily have anything against PG-13 horror movies. I think there is a taste coming back in the audience for the really intense experience, which is great."

Vinnie Jones :"Saw? Hostel? Halloween? Midnight Meat Train, [is] so ridiculous it's the king of all horror movies...
"Look, you see me, right, and I get two passengers on the train, I hook them up and I skin them, you actually see me skinning them - pulling the skins off of human beings. You ever seen that?...
"I just got fitted for these contact lenses which will drain blood out, so, you know, it really is going to look like my eyes are pouring blood."

Unsurprisingly, the Oscar success of the high brow "Infernal Affairs" remake "The Departed" has pushed the previously announced remake of Andrew Lau and Alan Mak's "Confession of Pain" forward, with writer William Monahan gearing up to tackle the script after finishing working on "The Long Play", another Scorsese project. The remake is being produced by Vertigo partners Roy Lee and Doug Davison, with Leonardo DiCaprio being touted for one of the two lead roles, though any official casting is probably some way off. It's unclear which of the main roles from the original DiCaprio would take, whether it be Takeshi Kaneshiro's drunkard private eye or Tony Leung's inscruitable police officer. The film itself is basically a big budget blockbuster mystery with plenty of soap opera trimmings, and should be easy enough to adapt, though the odd tone, which flirts with comedy and nihilism will probably be ironed out.
