Name: Ja’Maul Redmond Code Name: Loner. 9 Place of Origins: Flint, MI, USA, Earth Base of Operations: Charlotte, NC, USA, Earth Known Affiliations: Activ-Analog Recordings, Dazeja/Mojool Media, Detroit Techno Militia: Dirty South Not much is known about this operative. Normally seen in the Charlotte NC area but can be found working out of SC and also Detroit, this unit has been known to drop PA’s that leave dancefloors devastated. Often feared by lesser DJ’s and so-called "Live PA’s", he has established a reputation as a performer that maintains the best elements of a DJ set (unpredictability, improvisation, and adjusting to the needs of the dancefloor) while maintaining the strictly live, no pre-recorded bullshit, that makes his music the stuff of legend. Q: How do you describe your music? It’s definitely detroit influenced but not soley. I guess it’s best described as Minimal techno but with a lot of Electro and abstract qualities added. Q: Who are your primary influences? In EDM, it would Be Rob Hood, Jeff Mills, Drexcyia, Art Of Noise. In Popular Music, It’s Prince, James Brown and Miles Davis. Q: What prompted your move to the Queen City? College and a better Working Economy. Q:How does being on the outside of the Charlotte club scene affect your music? I think it positively adds a bit of angst to my music. Everytime I find myself writing something "pretty" I think of how Charlotte ignores talent for glitz, then I go back to writting something dark. Q: What future plans do you have for the Loner. 9 project?
