Just about every movie that has been made showing what it was like to be in the scene during the early 90's was only 1/4 as cool as what it was like to be at OHMS.Television
Ohms had a real life commercial once! I still remember how bright it had to be in there for the film to show people. You could hardly see any lights but the brightest white. The people sure looked good though.Heroes

Austin, TXEarly 1990's
OHMS Nightclub took form in the same building as former clubs Backstreet and Basics. Bridging the gap between the late 80's crowd and the new coming of age 90's crowd OHMS nightclub took shape.
Huddled in a downtown Austin building at 611 E 7th street, OHMS was the ultimate place of free expression. No matter if you were old or young, rich or poor, the best underground dance music in Austin poured into your ears 6 nights a week.
Over the years many people grew to feel this place was "home". A very large group of independent thinkers and dreamers inhabited this building every week. For those like me who were able to creatively contribute to the crowd's experience every week, this was heaven.
Many people contributed to the scene at OHMS. I hope to have a list of them all on this page one day
If you ever went to OHMS or worked there, now is the time to step forward and speak up. If you have pictures from OHMS or a story to tell, send them to to me in a message and I one of the former lighting guys (the first person you'd normally see when trying to get to the DJ) will add to this page. Feel free to post comments with memories as well
Hopefully with time we will have a historical myspace page worthy of the memories we all shared in this space and time.

Ahh, the memories of Ohms...dancing for you sweaty PIBs in little more than a few chains and a strap of pvc here and there..whipping your asses on stage just for giggles. I mostly cherish the memories when I was roomates with little Kathy aka Pandora. She was my partner in crime...and what fun we had. I hope she's up there dancing somewhere happy and free. Rest in Peace Sister.

You know whats odd. I went to Phaces and Ohms almost every night growing up and I remember a few of you but for the life of me I cant remeber alot of you. I dont know if there were difrent clicks at the club and it jsut dident click for me Or I was so faded that I jsut cant remebr much or maybe I wasent realy there and I jsut thought I was but if you remeber me and or know any stoirs about me let me know. I have run into some old frinds that tell me stories that I cant belive but They swear it was me.
