SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - 21-year-old Ana Ortiz is determined to set a good example for her two daughters.

It was the death of another young mother that prompted her to take action.

Ortiz never met 18-year-old Brittany Perez, but her family's public plea struck a cord with her.

That's when Ortiz decided to start a website dedicated to spreading peace and stopping the violence in Springfield.

Although members of this site can chat with each other, post pictures and even videos, Ortiz says she hopes this doesn't become just another social networking site, this is about strengthening community.

"I see people spending like thousands of hours on Myspace on this and that," she said. "Well I'm putting my time into helping, you know putting it into something good instead of just wasting time."

The website has only been up and running for a couple days but it already has several members.
