.. The Commune is a creative outlet, musically and non-musically. The Commune is supported by a core unit of musicians, artists and friends. Aside from the musical outlet of the band, the commune aims to provide interesting and diverse musical situations by way of gigs and events. .. The commune is currently based in newcastle, but is not restricted to this area alone. .. ..Current Members:.. .. ..David Burdis.. - guitar, vocals .. ..Barney.. - bass, guitar, vocals .. ..Dean Pearson.. - drums .. ..Lee O' Haley.. - guitar, vocals .. ..Luke Elgie.. - guitar, bass, drums, vocals .. ..David Williams.. - guitar, keyboards .. ..Andrew Cleaver.. - bass, guitar .. ..Pablo.. - drums .. ..David Turnbull.. - guitar, bass, vocals .. ..Josef Stringer.. - guitar, vocals .. ..Duggan.. - drums .. ..Brian James.. - bass, photography .. ..Shaun Abbott.. - drums .. ..Benn Curry.. - bass, vocals, photography, design. .. ..Current Bands:.. .. ..Mass, Flowers of Evil, Obi Got Ludo, Moleck, Black Stone Altar and Mental Giant.. with new and ongoing developments within the commune. .. ..Flowers Of Evil:.. The current line up have been practising together for about a year now. We consist mainly of a merge between two important bands from North-East of England who were active around the begining of the 21st century. Those bands were The Embassy (Lee O Haley, Paul Barnecott, Dave Dorward, Jamie Curle) and Uglyhead (Dave Burdis, Andrew McCaffery, Dean Pearson). The former caused as many waves on the waters of pop/rock as the latter did in prog/metal, with both acts winning popular and critical acclaim for their fresh visions and refreshing vitality. For various reasons, both bands split up. But as fate would have it all of the members were brought back together in the winter of 2005, as they were forced to share a tiny, damp practise room somewhere in the Eastern suburbs of Newcastle. Local legends Kappernicus shared with the early three-piece Flowers of Evil line up. Members of both groups would meet together to form Mass, the sublime doom orchestra, lead by Dave Burdis who soon joined Lee, Barney and Dean in the Flowers. Over a short space of time we've managed to forge our own rich, fully realised and highly individual sound. .. ..Obi Got Ludo:.. In trying to avoid the usual things in a band bio, we have decided to omit the following incidental and irrelevant fragments of information... "How we met eachother", "Line up changes" and "The history of mankind". We all have various influences (some of which we share similarities with, and some, we do not) and various ideas about the kind of band we are and the music we make. This is something that we all collectively embrace as a good, healthy starting point to making music. All of us have learnt through previous musical experiences that the only way we will ever succeed to entertain other people (whatever that means) is to first entertain ourselves. At the same time we are far more interested to see how other poeple catagorise our music than trying to do it ourselves. We enjoy the freedom of not having to declare our style or direction. Have a listen and let us know what you think, even if you didnt like it. .. ..Moleck: .. Moleck formed in Spring 2006. Our objective is to create catchy dynamic music which we both love to hear and play and contains an element of originality which is individual to ourselves.
