Marcos studied Music at Universidade Federal da Bahia, Instituto de Musica da Universidade Catolica da Bahia, Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Berklee College of Music and Indiana University. He lives happily in Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA with his wife Rose. One of their sons lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the other in Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA.
