Rutgers Alma Mater Live at Maritas Add to My Profile | More Videos
23 To Sparta's roots come from the State University of New Jersey, Rutgers as all its members are alumni. Sami Jarroush and Jason Fingar became friends and joined a band, Kinetic, which played in and around campus. The band later disbanded but Sami and Jason stayed in touch with one another. They occasionally got together to write music and play small acoustic shows in New Jersey. Years before Kevin Bray and Mike Green who lived in the same town down the shore joined up to play in a local campus production. There they met Dave Santin for the first time and became acquainted. Shift ahead a year or two on one fateful and somewhat drunken evening in Baltimore, MD, Sami got together with Dave and decided that they were going to start a new band with Jason! To build the band they first found Kevin to add another element ..boards. After a bit of searching Kevin turned to Mike to be the drummer. The band was on its way.
23 To Sparta began as cover band entertaining people with the likes of Incubus, Sublime and Red Hot Chili Peppers. As time progressed and the band grew tighter, It was time for 23 To Sparta to develop their own ideas and thoughts. Soon the band had many original songs based upon their major influences.
Unfortunately, after playing for about two years, Jason decided New Jersey was not the place for him. Though it was a tough decision since it meant leaving the band, Jason picked up shop and headed out West. The search was on for a new bassist. Dave had someone in mind turned to his fraternity brother Chris Henry. Chris came in and immediately fit right in. 23 To Sparta was on its way yet again.
23 To Sparta has been around for over two years and are currently playing shows in New Jersey and New York City. Whether its high energy covers or funky, entertaining, original music, 23 To Sparta's got it covered. They would love to see you at one of their shows...they'll even buy your first round of drinks if you ask real nicely.
There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.

.. Hi there 23 To Sparta first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people you can click the link below to visit our profile which wlil provide you with more information and also give you the link to our website! I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.
Thanks for the add. We'll definitely see you on the 13th, seeing as we're playing. Always a pleasure meeting you gentlemen within the slightly sleazy walls of The Court Tavern.
