When not watching films or under the influence of my iPod I can be found messing with cameras, FCP and other toys.
So yeah, to answer your question I like shiny objects. And moving images, too. And that feeling you get listening to music. And objects with attitude that travel fast. Oh, and pizza, almost always from Joe’s (near Bleecker on west side of 6th). And my favourite beer is Guinness.
Heh, just a regular guy with a heterogeneous interests set and not much need for sleep. I go pretty much 24x7 and require lots of stimulation. Know what I mean?
Here's some video we did. Huge fun shooting as well as editing.
We decided to take a one-day weekday breather from our serious projects to have a little fun and make a short. Being a typical fool, the day I chose was 1 April (2005). The day was not as spring-ish as it could have been, rain clouds threatened most of the day and the damp was felt through to the bone.
A day or two before I called a few friends and the plan was to shoot a short film on 1 April at Union Square Park. We met for breakfast at Coffee Shop to sort the details for the shoot since there was no other prep, we buttoned down the plan over pancakes and coffee. I did remember the to contact the NYC mayor's film office and get a permit as we'd be shooting in one spot for most of the day.
We kinda knew what we'd be shooting, the only thing we were now missing was the talent. This was not a problem though as Union Square Park is filled with people coming and going and we would simply recruit on the spot. Our goal was to make a mini documentary, one showing how cool people from New York are about spontaneously collaborating on a project.
Surprisingly some people already knew their lines. This was particularly serendipitous for us as well as them as they did not know they were going to be in a film and we didn't pre-announce our plan. And for peeps who did not come ready with their lines we had crib cards. We all had a great time, it's fun making a film with random NY'ers.
Anyway, here's how it went: Jabberwocky (quicktime .mov faststart)
