This is the Huntsville, Alabama (areacode)noise community, 256Noise. I (Jon Ingram, for those of you who aren't sure.) have just started it... out of my bedroom... But I hope to have it expand further!
I am currently looking for a base of operations to hold meetings and set up events. I want to get all kinds of different people and acts involved.
The name, '256Noise' dosen't just pertain to (br00dal/harsh/dethhh/blackkkend deth/whatever) "NOISE" per se... I look to involve all kinds of experimental acts! I would be very glad to help set up visual art exhibitions as well.
Please contact me if you are interested in providing a home for 256Noise or working in other ways with me... So instead of "me", it can become "us".
You can message me on here if you want me to post a bulletin for shows or do flyers for shows in the area! I can't do much in actually setting up gigs but I'd be happy to help out touring artists!

"(areacode)noise, founded on community and mutual aid instead of scene and posturing, is an autonomous grassroots movement designed to bring experimental and noise communities together under the guise of their local area code.
There is no physical model of how an (areacode)noise collective should operate, for each city has a personality of its own. The most important aspect of an (areacode)noise collective which must always be preserved is, they should always be open to the public, community operated, & a safe place against sexism, ageism, ablism, racism, classism, sizism, & homophobia. And all decisions should be made collectively.
Formed by the founding memebers of the Richmond experimental collective 804noise in the December of 2001, the intention was to create or influence a network of experimental communities based on the area codes of individual cities. These communities world provide local artists and enthusiast with the tools for building a strong and healthy experimental community. A community where like minds can meet and combine individual resources to bring experimental media to the forefront.
If you're interested in starting an (areacode)noise collective in your city, email and let us know about your collective so we can list you on the ACNOISE hub. You can also join the mailing/discussion lists."
