Rule of Reason obviously doesn’t need Wikipedia’s to dictate them how to play cool music, but both the definition and the sense of musical freedom that goes along with, pretty much covers all Rule of Reason stands for. All songs have clear structures and are definitely guitar-orientated. The music has a huge variety in style, tempo, intensity and agression.
Originated from Holland and founded in 2007, Rule of Reason headed for the studio the same year in july to record their debut album. Unfortunatly the line-up didn’t outlast last the mixing- and edititing proces. The position behind the microphone and drumkit would remain vacant for a long time. With a completed album in the bag, but without the means to promote it live, the remaining members decided to put the record on hold. With Michel Janse (ex-Stone in Egypt) on drums and singer Eric Holdtman (ex-Seven Day Hunt, Mangrove) joining the band, Rule of Reason started a second chapter in it’s brief history. The new frontman re-recorded the vocals for some of the songs of the never released album. After a two year gap the endresult finally sees the light of day with the 2009 selfproduced 4-track promo ‘Fallen’.
Rue of Reason is a true liveband in the real sense of the word. Their biggest priority for the near future is to play live as much as possible. The first shows with the new line-up were a huge succes and the band is eager for more. The band is also currently busy writing and preparing their next full-lenght album, due for release by the end of 2010.
