Forbidden Characters is back with more musical rarities from the Leeds underbelly. On this autumnal yet frisky line-up we have: Black Diamond Bay (formerly Tarentum) the seven piece will be doing a live set of their unique folksy electronica. Micoland from the Gonzo crew is also doing a live set, expect rephlex-esque broody dubstep. On the good ‘old dex of steel we welcome back Annie Erez for a techno tour-de-force and our special guest from Sweden Anaya - of Svaj Club fame and one of the Sister Sthlm founders - expect techno, techno, techno. Paizan will do residential duties around a.. yes you’ve guessed it techno theme with some dubstep thrown in for good measure. Digital Donut will blast your eyeballs with stunning visuals, as befits the visual mistress in residence. Sound’s provided by Kaos and decor by Peshrooms Décor. All proceeds are going towards Cloth Cat to ensure it keeps providing quality free music courses for the LS6 community.

Kling Klang

I totally buzz off Kling Klang. Fat electro krautrock riffs and landscapes get channeled through amiable scousers.

listen to Heavydale

Quack Quack

Yorskhire's top semi-pro rock band create pulsing rhythmic grooves lovingly fermented from the finest drums, synths and bass they could get their hands on. A very special vintage.

listen to Conversations

Minghe Morte

Musicianship of the highest calibre which will blow your head clean off. With drums, fucked up sax and bass coming together for infectiously violating rock grooves, tender atmospheres and aggresive spasmodic climaxing.

listen to i Punch U Coz i Like U

Curious Voice Duo

Two lovely girls from LIMA* who know their voices. Performing within semi-structures with an innocent improvisational flair, entwining their heavenly voices in gorgeously melodic dialogue. With no added vocal effects.

The Moor Music Festival

Jan 22 2008 2:49 PM

It seems like years since the last Moorfest happened and to be honest I think the weather was very much a factor in whether people enjoyed themselves or not. Some thrived in the mud whilst others wept until their dads could pick them up. Moorfest is still carving an identity for itself and in the three years that it has been established I think I can say that the one thing that most people love about it is the friendly atmosphere, and this gig is a good opportunity to meet up with friends that perhaps you haven't seen since the festival, to make new friends, enjoy quality music, get a flavour of Moorfest if you haven't already been and also to talk to the organisers in order to give your opinions on how to improve the festival.
We'll also be projecting your favourite photos that you've taken from previous Moorfests to create a live mashup that will adorn the walls of the Brudenell so please send them to bandsformoorfest@yahoo.co.uk and make sure that everyone in the picture is cool for you to use them like this.

There'll be much more to boot like gorgeous organic food, t-shirt stall, films and raffles to win tickets to Moorfest 4 which we're working on right now and aim to make it the best yet.

We really appreciate your continued support in making Moorfest what it is and hope to see you all there.

Team Moorfest x
