Her electrifying one woman show, “Robbyne Kaamil: Raw & Real…Life from One Woman’s Perspective” which features the explosive poetry from her controversial book, “Get Off The Titty: Poetry That Bites” earned rave reviews in it two off-Broadway runs. Robbyne’s in-your-face style has landed her appearances on many radio and television shows including “The Howard Stern Show” and “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”. She also has been hailed as the 21st century’s Dear Abby with her sassy advice website: www.canwebereal.com. Robbyne is also the Official Advice Diva for Dlist.com – a leading gay social website. Her advice has been featured in numerous publications including Essence Magazine.

Robbyne’s latest music project “Free to Love” is sure to become a gay rights anthem. She was inspired to write the track after reading an article in Legal Times discussing the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court case Loving v. Virginia. The Lovings were a couple who were sentenced to one year in prison in Virginia for attempting to live as husband and wife. It was illegal for people of different races to legally marry in America. Robbyne immediately saw the parallels between the Loving case and the issue of gay marriage.

Nina Simone, Alicia Keys, Fantasia, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Maria Callas, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye and Edith Piaf. I first heard Edith Piaf sing La Vie en Rose when I was 11 years old. I froze in my tracks. I couldn’t understand what she was saying but the song went through me. I had never heard a white woman sing with such pain a la Billie Holiday. That bitch was fierce!!!
