..........I have been married since 1997 and have a 21 yr old son & 12 yr old daughter. Moved to TN in April 2006. I miss alot of things about New Orleans but WE LOVE IT HERE. The weather is better, the schools are better and the mountains and waterfalls are very peaceful and relaxing and very easy on the eyes

♪ ♪ Lifelong LOVE Affair with Music and Dance ♪ ♪

I fell in love with music and dance when I first saw Elvis in Hawaii TV special in 1973, I was 8. Don’t remember if music made such a big impression before then, although as far as I remember my parents always had music playing~~~ country, 50’s, 60,70’s.

Conway Twitty was a favorite of my mom’s (aside from Elvis, guess I got that from her too), she has an autographed picture from ....Conway.... signed to me. Mom was the mover and shaker in the house, guess I get my love of dance from her.

From 1973 forward, my love of music and dance grew. I’m not artistic in the sense of playing an instrument, singing or writing song lyrics, but I have discovered I can write poetry, which is the artist in me. My love of dance is what keeps me young in body, mind and spirit. Wish I could have afforded dance classes in my younger days; who knows where I would be today.

I’m lucky to have married a man that enjoys music and dance as much as I. My husband and I met while out on the dance floor. He surprised me with a very public proposal at one of our favorite nite clubs. He had the dance floor cleared, put a tux on and asked me to marry him in the middle of the dance floor on ladies nite. Not exactly traditional but that’s us, different and unique.

I’ve seen some amazing cover bands in my home town of ....Metairie-New Orleans..... These bands have been around for 10+ years, they’ve got be doing something right. Several of them travel from ..Texas.. to ..Destin.., ..FL.. to ....Tennessee..... I’ve not found in my limited travels any bands that compare to the local bands in my hometown.

My first concerts were when I was a preteen- Shaun Cassidy and Leif Garrett. I know I should be ashamed, but they were the teen idols of the day. After that I was hooked on concerts,

Rolling Stones, AC/DC, ZZ Top, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, Loverboy (met Mike Reno), Bon Jovi, Kid Rock, Melissa Etheridge, Heart (my daughter’s 1st concert), Black Crows, Bad Company, Eric Clapton, Bryan Adams, Robert Plant (with Jimmy Page), George Strait (with Tim McGraw & Faith Hill), Conway Twitty (with my mom), Tom Jones (with my mom), Wynonna (with Sawyer Brown), Garth Brooks (the ultimate concert for me), Debbie Deb, 69 Boys, Sir Mixalot, Kyper, Quad City DJ’s, Britney Spears, Rick Springfield (my daughter’s 2nd concert).

Guess this is why my daughter loves different genres of music.
